Pete Ashlock.

~ Quarry Scores Speedy Win In 10, Defeats 'Chi-Town' Warfield ~

Mike Quarry won a Unanimous 10-Round Decision over Chicago 'power-puncher' Chuck Warfield in a
fast-action bout.

There was 'fast-action' over the first 2-Rounds, as Quarry moved in quickly on Warfield, and scored
with fast 'left-right' one-two's on the big 'right-hand hitter' from Chicago. Chuck Warfield pressed
forward, but threw very few punches.

Quarry used a variety of left-hands during Rounds 3 and 4, as he kept dazzling his opponent with
fast punches from long-range.

In Rounds 5 and 6, Quarry opened-up by coming inside and working his opponents body with a
steady 'left-right' attack, as well as 'shaking' Warfield with several solid right-hands to the chin.

In Round 7, the 'action' slowed down, as Quarry spent much of the Round using his quick-footwork
to circle the plodding Chicagoan while lowering his hands and 'baiting' his opponent to throw a
head-punch. As Quarry jabbed and moved, Warfield looked to be tiring.

In Round 8 {best Round of the bout}, Warfield came out swinging, and finally 'tagged' Quarry with
his 'power' right-hand, jarring Mike and sending him backwards and into a Corner. Trying to take
advantage of his opportunity, Warfield moved in and attacked with everything he had left in 'the tank'.

But Quarry was able to 'ride-with-the-punches', and weathered the brief storm, as Warfield punched
himself out.

In Round 9, it was Quarry who landed the cleaner punches by scoring with left-hooks and
quick right-hand 'snaps' to the face, as Warfield had slowed down to a walk.

In some late-Round excitement, Mike Quarry backed to the Ropes and dropped his hands down
'low' and let Warfield have a 'free' opening at his body. Warfield obliged, and threw about 15-Punches
into Quarry's body.

Quarry took the punches without even a 'grimace' or 'flinch'.

In Round 10 {Final Round}, Quarry used his quick-footwork and fast-hands to 'lightly-pepper' his
frustrated opponent from the outside.

the Cleveland fighter's claimed record is 'questionable'.

~ Quarry 'Clobbers' Foe By TKO In 5 ~

Mike Quarry exhibiting new found punching-power, dropped Sylvester Wilder '6-Times' en-route
to a TKO win @ 2:41 of Round 5.

Quarry came out 'briskly' in the Opening Round, and 'razed' his opponent with a series of left-hooks
that had the Cleveland fighter backing away and covering up.

Sensing that his opponent had no offense, Quarry tee'd off on Wilder in Round 2, and late in the
session dropped him with a 'double' left-hook to the jaw.

Quarry continued with his 'blitz' in Round 3, and again dropped Wilder with a 'double' left-hook to
the jaw.

With a near 'defenseless' opponent in front of him, Quarry showed good 'sportsmanship' and laid
back using very little offense for the rest of Round 3, and again in Round 4.

In Round 5 {Final Round}, Quarry stepped up the pace, and un-leashed a series of combinations
that had Wilder down at the {0:45 Mark}.

Wilder was up at the '3-Count' and wanted to continue. Quarry obliged, and moved in close {inside}
and worked over Wilder with left-hooks and short right-hands. Wilder finally went down at the
{1:55 Mark} after absorbing the punches.

But again Wilder rose, and wanted to continue. Again Quarry moved in, and tagged Wilder with
several left-hands underneath, eventually driving his opponent into a Corner.

Then Quarry came in with a 'chopping' right-hand, dropping Wilder at the {2:41 Mark}.

The '3-Knockdown Rule' was in effect, and the bout was automatically halted.

"Boxing is my livelihood. It always has been, and always will. As for getting a chance at the Title. I think that
WBA Champion - Victor Galindez is more 'suited' for my style. He's a slugger and I'm a boxer. That would be
an entertaining bout for sure. On WBC Champion - John Conteh. He's good, but he is too much of a 'technician'.
I think our styles are similar, and that it would be an 'odd' match-up with probably little excitement."

Billy can punch a little, and has a decent right-hook.

~ Quarry Extinguishes 'Nitro' Freeman In 8 ~

Mike Quarry put out Billy 'Nitro' Williams at {1:05 of Round 8} in front of a small crowd a the
Sports Arena in Orlando.

Quarry got off to a smooth start, as he boxed brilliantly over the first 3-Rounds against the
Philadelphia club-fighter, as Quarry scored with quick left-jabs and fast right-hands to his
opponents face.

In Round 4, the action got heated, as both traded blows, with each scoring with some solid
punches. Billy Freeman got Quarry's attention late in the Round, when he caught him with a
big right-hook that jarred him backwards.

The visiting Freeman also had a good 5th-Round, as he out-worked Quarry along the Ropes, by
pinning the clever-boxer, and firing short-punches on the inside.

Quarry went to boxing during Rounds 6 and 7, as he peppered Freeman with fast-combinations
from the outside. Freeman pressed, but he started to slow down in the footwork department,
and his hand-speed evaporated.

At the end of Round 7, the Philly-fighter was breathing heavily at the Bell.

In Round 8, it didn't take Mike Quarry long to figure out that his opponent was 'out-of-gas'. Quarry
went to work right away, and blasted a series of punches Freeman's mid-section, sending him
backwards, and into the Ropes at the {0:30 Mark}.

Quarry then picked his punches, before delivering a 'pin-point' {left-right-left} to the jaw, dropping
Freeman on his right-side. Freeman tried to get up at the 'coun-of-7, but he fell over and was
counted out at the {1:05 Mark}.

and he caught me with a good right-hook. That was my mistake, as my Corner told me to keep boxing
