At Carl's age inactivity is a career ending thing , he should just retire and be happy with a good career. For me the only fight worth taking is the Ward rematch , if he doesn't want that then walk away.

As long as Froch has the desire then he should get back in the ring but not at light heavy.

Ward does not want to go to Nottingham but is willing to fight in Wembley then he should target that fight.
GGG would be a good victory for Froch
    De Gale is beatable
    Hell even Kessler.

You have to be mad to think Froch has any chance against GGG, as much as I dislike him DeGale gives him a hard time.

Ward is his safest option, but really he should pack it in. Hes not doing bad at un-making a dick of himself as a sky commentator, because we all know george groves would even be better than him at that!

Ward has said repeatedly that Froch just does not want to fight him for the second time. Froch just does not want it. Froch may feel as if he really can't beat Ward. Which is fair, so no reason in trying to force him if he feels he won't win.

To that regard, Ward will always be #1 in Froch's era and Froch fighting for #2 and #3 with Kessler.
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Agree with p4pKing, froch moving up puts him at a disadvantage as he would theoretically have speed and maybe agility over his opponents, but the extra weight would kill that. His style is not terribly evasive to begin with and you can still find a few Light Heavies that throw at least the type of combos that groves caught him with. Couple that with Froch really being to brave for his own good it it came down to a slug fest and its really a move he doesn't need to make. The fight against Jr. Did make sense because Jr. was a fake tough guy who was slow anyway and froch could have easy found and countered him and broke him down all night as long as he didn't get caught standing and trading in the pocket by a big sweeping hook, which he manages to avoid most of the time (its the straight punches that are surprising carl now)
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

Froch has a very good chance of beating GGG. Carl is bigger and stronger and if he had to choose another style to fight then GGG would be it because he would not have to find Golovkin.

The only reservation I would have is the fact that Froch has been out of the ring over a year whereas GGG has been very active. I still think the size of Froch would be too much.
