Things that make you do a Double Take

So this morning I was eating breakfast watching SportsCenter not really paying attention to the ticker running below.... but something crawled across the screen that made me go "Huh?"..... and then obviously I had to rewind and make sure I had read it correctly. The word for word news was:

"Tulsa Shock C Glory Johnson-Griner will not play this season after announcing she is pregnant. Johnson-Griner married Phoenix Mercury C Brittney Griner last month."

Ok so obviously there's nothing wrong with that I guess. But the wording of the news item? Maybe I'm just being picky here.... but somewhere in my subconscious I'm still one of those guys where if I hear the news that a woman is pregnant, quickly followed by a sentence about "by the way" a recent marriage..... I kind of expect a man's name to follow.

No biggie.... it just made an otherwise totally boring sports-related announcement into a mildly amusing one for a few seconds.

My brother (a 17st Rugby back rower) dressed as Dave for his stag do in Cardiff last week. We did quad biking and white water rafting. And I don't mean to brag but I did a 70cl bottle of vodka to myself in the two hour drive there in the minibus. Not trying to brag but obviously that is pretty amazing. I don't think that makes me a big man but it did make me feel like one.

Are we to assume Griner only found out about the pregnancy like the rest of us? On the SportsCenter ticker?!?!?

Will we ever find out who the father is?
What if it's Caitlyn Jenner..... before she he became Caitlyn and was still Bruce.... who claims he she still has the sexual preferences of a man, but feels like a woman?

I've been thinking about this...when Caitlyn gets a reality show there will need to be a 'love interest'. Some guy hot for the new woman, refusing to believe that 'she' still likes other woman, convinced that he can make Caitlyn a 'real' woman....
