total disgrace. I've I have never seen Smith hit someone's hands that often with his head. He was battering his hands!
I guess it's all subjective but fuck that was one sided.

Smith was battering Ward's hands with his head then Smith's corner threw the towel in. 9th I think.
Was a big shame as I'm sure smith's plan of breaking ward's hands on his head was just starting to work.

It took Ward 9 rounds to get a guy George Groves battered in 2 outta there. I think we can all agree this means Groves is a better fighter. He has already pretty much retired Carl Froch.

Ward dominated Smith but hardly set the World alight,! it was rather boring to watch, that's
why Ward will never draw a large fan base, he may draw fly's because some of his
fights stink and this was one of them.

Jesus Christ that was boring!!! I quit watching the fight, if u can call it that. WARD is a disgrace. Fighting that bum was laughable. It was unwatchable, and I love boxing!!! Retire WARD!!! No one wants to see you fight, you Oakland only fighting chump. Why doall these fighters only fight at home now? thats bullshit. Real champs traveled to other countries and fought whoever was the best!!

It was his first fight back and he needed rounds. A 2 round KO would have made no sense.

A bloody affair for a boxer who didn't even consider fighting, let alone brawl.
Ward could have ended it early if he chose to bang.
Disposed a tomato can with a slow methodical pace.

No rust, still accurate, quick and overly patient.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!

What pisses people off with Ward, is he does lack excitement a very good technical boxer, but
not a style for a large fan base, he's a nice guy but has the personality of a plank.
Great boxer very hard to beat, a superstar needs some charisma pity Andre lacks it a boxer
    more for the purists.

Ward gave Smith the $37,500 fine back. Nice touch after smashing his face in

I know what you are saying but surely after after a couple rounds on Saturday his corner could see he was not going to gain much from this fight ? I suppose it looks easier from this side of the ropes but Ward seems to be more than capable of stopping opponents like Paul Smith earlier and more decisively, and improving his marketability. Yes, it's after a long lay off but most British and even American fight fans know what Smith is going to give you and it's not ever going to be enough really, to trouble the likes of Ward. Smith is not even the best Super Middle Weight in his own family
