April 1967 thru October 1970
They said that these were his best years. It could be true, as he was never beaten in the Ring for this time span.
But, Cassius could not beat his chest, stating that he was the best anymore.

He didn't look that sharp against Zora Foley. Did the war controversy begin before this fight took place? It may have had an affect on Ali's preparation for this fight. He wasn't quite as cut either.Originally Posted by Bill Paxtom

Sonny's wins over Floyd Patterson were 'expected'.
Sonny started to slow down at the end of 1960.
They started to call him ...... 'Mr. Molasses'.
But, not to his face.
