How was slavery Justified by Americans in deep south at the time?

Well, I think you have to look at slavery throughout history to understand it. Still, I blame the British.

Why would you need to look at historical slavery to understand how it was used in the south?

Even if true, that doesn't mean one should have more to say about British, African, or Martian slavery, then about Said topic...slavery in the deep south.


How did southerners justify it?
Did they use socialism to justify it? Atheism? communism? Agnostic? Political? Religion?

I wrote a paper on this that never got published but in essence the slave trade continued because it was purely economically driven and had no justification for it on racial grounds.

Capitalism at its best until politics and self serving morality took over.
