Exactly! That's how much these goddamn titles are worth, they literally hand them out to fighters!
You are acting like its a surprise. Floyd is not going to let anyone pick his opponents, he hasn't for years. So why is everyone acting indignant about the whole thing?
I don't like the idea that he picks who he is going to fight, but it's nothing new for Floyd or to boxing. Am I wrong?

The fighters should have control over their careers and only fight the fighters they choose.
It's stupid to be forced to fight a fight you don't want to.
The fighters are the ones putting their health and lives on the line.
They should have the choice to choose the fights they want and to not fight the fights they don't want.

Floyd has ruined boxing with ped use and buying opponents.

    Oh but of course.....

Who gives a shit about mandatories and rankings anyway?
Hell... a guy becomes champion... he should be able to have the pick of the litter.
"Yeah, I'll fight Joe Blow next. He's what..... 0-20? Sounds perfect. Gotta a gig with Dancing with the Stars next month and don't want my face messed up for national TV."

This literally just made a segment on my 10 pm news! Locally we see zero boxing coverage but news anchor kept repeating "Mayweather stripped of THE title" The cynic and boxing junkie in me was all ... wait until they learn trinkets are made by the dozen and sold as easily as stale Funyuns in a vending machine.

Just make Bradley v Porter and or Maidana...that's all I ask

If you want to be an alphabet title holder then you need to fight the mandatory.

Floyd had reached a point in boxing where he is bigger than the title. So, he would fight for a title and give it up whenever he wanted. Since hes the best fighter he'd always qualify for another title fight and any fighter would be happy to fight him because they'd make the most money of their careers AND the alphabet organizations were happy to sanction these fights because Floyd holding their belt lent credibility and prestige to their title.

For fighters who are lesser than Floyd, (which is every fighter), they have fight the mandatory and kiss the asses to advance their careers. All the while being treated like cattle, being robbed by managers and promoters and being shit on by asshole fans.

Floyd is a pioneer in freeing fighters from their slave contracts with managers and promoters. He's trying to create an atmosphere where fighters are in charge of their careers, their health and their lives. How can you oppose that? (I'm sure you donkeys will find a way)

Pioneer my ass! Next you will be saying they should pay Floyd for holding the titles.

EVERYBODY picks who they fight. No fighters (unless they were controlled by the mob I guess) were lead to the ring at gun point. You think top guys haven't been picking, choosing, and vetoing opponents for decades?

Floyd just CHOSE to fight the guy who, for the last 7 years, people said he was afraid of and that would beat him to a pulp. Who should he have fought? You can't say Floyd is fighting stiffs out there.
