Not sure what you mean by "control of their careers", but RJJ seems misplaced here.
Wonderful career, to be sure.... but ended it with some ugly KO losses.
Most surely fought way past his time for retirement.
Under some definitions, it doesn't sound like a man in "control of his career."

If that is your reasoning, then both Sugar Rays suffered some ugly ko losses at the end as well. I think you are missing the gist of this topic...
