Re: Hopkins v GGG apparently
The weight advantage for Hopkins nullifies some of the power of Golovkin and the angles and shoulders should take the edge off some of the rest. The issue is whether or not Hopkins can really wear him down. Kopkins level of activity has dropped over the years and he will have to hold and smother Golovkin a lot and lean on him. Even then You have to wonder if GGG finishes the fight swinging and on his feet, if they will let him lose barring any knockdowns of KO's. Boxing stands to gain more from an attraction like Golovkin who would beat a guy bigger and with a records like Hopkins that it would from a fading legend in his last fight with a much smaller opponent. The idea that theres no shame in GGG losing to a bigger legend like Hopkins does little to reverse the trend (in my mind anyway) of all these primadonnas nursing their "0" in the losses column to being overpaid and underworked in the ring now.
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.
