18. Between August and November 2013, UKAD contacted Mr Thompson on numerous occasions to request that he provided the information required to apply for a TUE. Mr Thompson submitted various documents; including a partially completed TUE application form submitted on 20 September 2013, a note from the Alexandria Healthcare Centre dated 23 September 2013 confirming that he had been diagnosed with hypertension, and a letter from Alexandria Healthcare Centre dated 11 November 2013 confirming that he was being seen for hypertension. Upon receipt of each of these documents, UKAD advised Mr Thompson that he had not yet provided sufficient information to allow UKAD to forward his application for a TUE to the TUE committee.
19. By November 2013, Mr Thompson still had not submitted a satisfactorily completed TUE application.
20. In consequence, UKAD sent a Notice of Charge to Mr Thompson dated 26 November 2013 ("the Charge Letter"), outlining that UKAD believed he had committed an ADRV contrary to Article 2.1 of the Anti-Doping Rules, based on the presence of the prohibited substance hydrochlorothiazide in the urine sample he provided on 6 July 2013. The Charge Letter explained that pursuant to Article 7.7 of the Anti-Doping Rules, he was subject to a provisional suspension effective from the date of the letter, i.e. 26 November 2013.
21. Mr Thompson was asked to provide a response to the Charge Letter by 6 December 2013, and to inform UKAD whether he wished to continue with his TUE application. It was clear to UKAD from further e-mail correspondence that he still wished to do so, and he was therefore given a new deadline of 10 January 2014 to submit his application.
22. Although this deadline was missed, there was continued communication between the parties. This included a telephone call between UKAD and Mr Thompson's physician Dr Lena Tran on 25 March 2014, for which Mr Thompson was also present. The next day, UKAD e-mailed Mr Thompson to confirm what was discussed with Dr Tran, namely that she would provide Mr Thompson with his blood pressure records and an explanation as to why he had switched to medication containing hydrochlorothiazide. Dr Tran subsequently e-mailed UKAD on 15 April 2014, attaching information relevant to Mr Thompson's TUE application. However, UKAD determined that this information was inadequate and requested actual blood pressure readings with dates. In an e-mail to UKAD dated 29 April 2014, Sydnee Thompson (Mr Thompson's wife, acting in her capacity as his agent) stated that despite chasing up Dr Tran for this further information, she had failed to provide it.
23. Further correspondence continued between the parties. However, by June 2014 Mr
Thompson still had not submitted a completed TUE application. UKAD therefore referred -5-

Never said I wasn't bothered by it. I don't condone the use of PEDs in boxing. All I said was I doubt it had much effect on the fight, because it wasn't a great performance by Thompson so much as it was a shit performance by Price.

I'm also not one of these retards who's shocked when a guy tests positive. It's a dirty game, it's a brutal game, and guys are always going to try to get a leg up on the other. ESPECIALLY when drug tests have been USELESS for so long and the odds of getting caught were very slim.

UKAD is a joke! How can an anti-doping org. hold back information about a cheater for two years and continue to say they are protecting fighters? Somebody explain that to me. Maybe they're confused about which fighters they are protecting, the cheaters or the non-cheaters?

Yeah that's brutal man.

And if you think about it, what's the good of them releasing the info even a day after the fight? The damage has already been done, a guy who was using banned PEDs has already gotten into the ring and assaulted another man under the influence of said PEDs.

That's why I love this new era that's coming in of random drug testing before the fight. I know Lamont Peterson got busted before the Khan rematch, and there have been several UFC fights scrapped over the last few years because someone got busted in a pre-fight test.

In an ideal world, Thompson would have been randomly tested, got popped before the fight and Price wouldn't have even gotten in the ring with him.
