If the person who's sweeping the floors is making the same as me, what's my motivation to go to school and learn the technology and then face all the stress and pressures? Hand me a mop, I'll turn my iPod on, go at my own pace and have no stress or pressure.

I studied this shit at University and pontificate on it frequently. In socialism nobody is earning the same. You are wrong. It is simply a progressive system where the rich pay more taxes and we respect workers rights. Absolutely, I learned diddly squat from studying politics. I have had to recondition myself completely and at this stage I have a far better understanding of the realities of the Western political, media, business and economic systems. You look at the average American and have to feel a bit sorry for them really. The average person studying humanities is likewise someone to feel a bit sorry for. They don't know any better.
