Danny Lopez is World ranked as the #5 Bantamweight, but he is really campaigning as a
122 pounder.

Kenji Endo is ranked as the #5 Super-Bantamweight in Japan. At the end of 1971, Kenji had
an impressive record of 26-3-0. But since January 1972 > he has gone only 2-6-0 in his last
8-Bouts.

Kenji is wild-swinging fighter, who vows to come right at 'Little Red' with haymakers in an attempt
to take the undefeated Lopez out right away.

~ 'Little Red' Lopez and Japan's 'Ace' Endo Go To War in 2-Round Thriller ~

An incredible fight for as long as it lasted.

Round 1 >

Kenji Endo comes out winging wild-punches, and hammers Danny all over the Ring. Kenji 'rocks' Danny
with booming right-hands to the head and chin, driving 'Little Red' to the front-right Ring area.

At the {0:37 Mark} > Kenji fires in a 'left-right' to the head, and Danny goes down near the front-right Corner.

Danny is up at quickly at the '2-Count', and appears fine and ready to go after taking the 'Mandatory-Count' from
Referee - Richard Greene.

Kenji Endo then tears into Danny with a 'two-fisted' barrage for the next 15-Seconds.

Danny somehow manages to stay upright, and starts to fight back at the {1:00 Mark}, before getting driven to
the front-right Corner at the {1:12 Mark} after taking a 'hard' left-hook to the head, and right-hand to the jaw.

Kenji then quickly moves forward with a 'wild-barrage', and then tags Danny with a solid right-hand to the chin,
'badly' staggering him at the {1:18 Mark}.

Kenji Endo then tears into Danny Lopez with everything he's got, by flinging in wild-swings from every angle,
as Danny punches back in a toe-to-toe in an all-out slugfest.

At the {1:50 Mark} Endo catches Danny with '2' jarring left-hooks to the chin, which hurt him.

Endo continues to pour it on as Danny is trying to fight back. Endo hammers in a 'wild-barrage' of punches, and
rocks Danny with a 'big' right-hand to the chin at the {2:09 Mark}. Danny wobbles back into the front-center Ropes.

Danny is covering up, as Endo continues with another 'wild-barrage' of punches aimed at Danny's head

At the {2:17 Mark} > Danny is driven to his left, and into the front-left Corner, as Endo continues with his 'two-fisted'
assault.

Endo is swarming all over Danny with a non-stop barrage. Danny's legs 'buckle' after taking a hard 'left-right' to the
head at the {2:24 Mark}.

Endo is firing with everything he has, as Danny is getting smothered with punches. Endo slams in a hard 'right-left'
and Danny's legs nearly give out at the {2:40 Mark} while he's still trapped in the front-left Corner.

Endo sends in another barrage, as Danny is now driven to his right, along the front-center Ropes at the {2:42 Mark}.

Kenji whips in a 'big' overhand-right to the chin. Danny looks 'out-on-his-feet' as he wobbles back into the Ropes.

Kenji 'loads up', and slams in a tremendous over-hand right to Danny's chin at the {2:44 Mark}. Danny stumbles
forward {defenseless} toward the Center-Ring, with his back towards Kenji.

Kenji sends in a wide-whipping left-hook that goes over Danny's left shoulder and Danny on the forehead at the {2:45 Mark}.

Danny staggers backwards and into the right-side Ropes as Kenji fires in a right-hand that grazes Danny's chin.

Kenji comes in wailing wide-open, and fires in a 4-Punch volley.

Danny slides to his right, as Kenji comes in low with a left-hook.

Danny then fires in a 'pin-point' straight right-hand counter that catches Kenji flush on the point-of-the-chin at the {2:49 Mark}.

Kenji is frozen-stiff for a 'full-second', then his legs give out and he crashes to the canvas face-first at the {2:51 Mark}.

Kenji gets up at the '5-Count', as Referee - Richard Steele moves in at the {2:57 Mark}.

3-Seconds later the Bell sounded ending Round 1.

Following the 'all-out' War with Kenji 'Ace' Endo the night before on March 17, 1973.

Though Danny had impressive and one-punch power, he was a sucker for a right-hand.

Now, every opponent who was selected to face Danny, headed to the Gym and worked
on right-hands.

Manager - Howie Steindler was still putting Danny in with over-blown Mexican Bantamweights
and/or Super-Bantamweights from Japan.

Danny is still rated as a Bantamweight, but we cannot make 118 lbs. We'll campaign at
122 lbs., and continue to progress.

Danny is only 20 1/2 years old, and is growing. He will be a solid 126 pounder by the end of
the year. Then, we'll go after the Featherweight Championship.

We'd be willing to fight one the Bantamweight Champion's in a 10-Round 'non-title' bout at
121 lbs., but nothing less than that in weight.

I believe we could draw $100,000 at the Olympic Auditorium for a 'non-title' gig. That would
be wild. Romeo Anaya vs. Danny Lopez, Wow !!

Danny Lopez was dropped at the {0:37 Mark} by a wicked right-hand to the chops.

Danny was badly staggered 'twice' more in the 1st-Round, and was rocked several other
times.

Danny basically took a 'brutal-shellacking' for 2:48 {2 minutes and 48 seconds}.

Until out of nowhere, Danny landed a 'desperation' right-hand counter to the chin of the wide-open
Japanese Slugger with only 11-Seconds left in the 1st-Round.

~ 'Little Red' Lopez Strikes 'Cobra' Ordonez Down At The End Of 6 ~

~ Lopez Loses Tooth, But Scores TKO 6 Win ~

Danny Lopez came from behind after getting battered during the first 2 1/2 Rounds, to halt
Cesar 'Cobra' Ordonez who could not continue after finishing the 6th Round.

Lopez did not come out of this bout 'unscathed', as he had one of his front teeth knocked out, after
taking a vicious overhand right from the Mexican fighter in Round 2.

Ordonez came out fast in this bout, and struck fast like a 'Cobra' as he landed several good
left-hooks into Lopez' face, reddening it by the end of the 1st Round.

Ordonez kept the pressure on in Round 2, and mixed in overhand rights to jar Lopez repeatedly,
and knocked out Danny's {loose fitting mouthpiece} 'twice'.

Ordonez continued to fire in hard right-hands, and knocked out Danny's mouthpiece again, and with
it his front tooth.

Referee - Larry Rozadilla had to halt the action each time that Danny's mouthpiece was knocked out.

In Round 3, Ordonez was having his way until the {2:00 Mark}, when Lopez came alive with
a 'two-fisted' barrage that shook up the Mexican fighter.

In Rounds 4 and 5, Lopez hammered Ordonez with heavy punches, and sent him backwards
several times, after tagging him with stiff right-hands over the Mexican's low left-guard.

But the Mexican visitor would not back down, and each time that he was 'jarred', he would come
back with his own 'one-two'.

But, in Round 6, Lopez laid down the heavy-arsenal, and hammered Ordonez while he was on
the Ropes.

At the {1:55 Mark}, Ordonez was forced to take a knee, after absorbing a heavy right-hand
to the head. Referee - Larry Rozadilla administered the 'Mandatory 8-Count'.

Ordonez tried to fight back, but Lopez would give him no room to rest, and continued to slam
in stiff 'lefts-and-rights' into Ordonez' face.

At the end of the 6th Round, Ordonez had a badly swollen left-eye, and left cheekbone. The Ordonez
corner called it off with their fighter on his stool in between Rounds 6 and 7.

~ Danny Lopez Scores 19th Straight KO Win ~

Danny 'Little Red; Lopez had little trouble with Mexican - Jose Ordonez, as he stopped Mexico's
#5 Bantamweight at 1;16 of Round 4.

'Little Red' dropped Ordonez in each of the first 3-Rounds, by landing his powerful right-hand
onto Ordonez' chin. After each knock-down, the Mexican bounced up quickly.

Ordonez, a brick-layer by trade in Mexico City, had come in with a reputation as a big right-hand
power-puncher. But the Mexican could never get close enough to the tall-and-rangy Los Angeles
based Lopez.

Each time that the 5' 5" Ordonez moved within range, the nearly 3" taller Lopez sent in stiff
right-hands over Ordonez' left-hand, jarring him time and again.

In Round 4, Lopez came blazing-out with a non-stop 'two-fisted' barrage, and drove Ordonez
from pillar-to-post across the Ring.

By the {0:50 Mark}, Ordonez was bleeding badly from the mouth, and retreated to a Corner.

Lopez moved in, and sent in a 'left-right' to the head, followed by a jolting left-hook to the chin,
dropping Ordonez to his hands-and-knees.

The Mexican was counted out by Referee - Rudy Jordan at the {1:16 Mark} of Round 4.
