Gatling is hitting record times at the age 33 and it must be more than just running technique that is doing it.

I actually think track and field athletes should be allowed to dope, let's just see who can possibly run the fastest, jump the highest, with the benefit of the freakiest steroids out there, who cares. The way dopers are treated in mainstream and olympic events compared to boxing is a head trip really, when you consider the nature of it.

Where do you draw the line? Allow it in boxing?

In boxing when you get caught doping, you get a slap on the wrist, and the fans/authorities/promoters/TV companies don't give a shit. Roy, Mosley, Toney, etc, are fan favourites that will go into the HOF.

In Athletics dopers are treated like paedophiles.

Yes but at least they make them out to be "evil." In boxing you just pretend it never happened

But Gary Glitter and his ilk would never be allowed back to do their trade.

    Very true to some extent.

Boxers have the potential to legally kill their opponents especially on peds but they get a pass.

At what point will these cheaters just get banned forever and stop pussy footing around

That is what makes you a legend.

After nearly tripping up in the semi-final the Funker showed the best turn of foot since Sea The Stars in the 2009 Arc (horse racing) then made Gatlin bottle it in the final. Respect.

I'd draw the line in any contact sport, where you have the potential to hurt a guy badly affecting his livelihood, so of course not boxing. As Fenster said, there are HOFers everyone knows juiced, and nobody cares, even though it clearly could have far worse consequences in a combat sport than most any other. I understand that it's not fair to legalize it in other athletics either, I'm just not much of a sports fan and couldn't personally care less as long as guys aren't getting physically harmed for it. Athletes shouldn't be role models for anyone in the first place imo.
