Nobody is saying Pac should have won. The posters here are specifically making sure not to say a+b =c. What it does mean though is that Floyd and his team have to give up the sanctimonious moral high ground.

The cynic in me might say it paves the way for another very lucrative 51st megafight but the boxing fan is pleading "please no"

I should have been more clear and said that I'm not talking about anybody on the message board.

I saw someone post something about it on Facebook and it made me realize that casual fans will make this a big deal about the result of the fight rather than the actual problem.

This was my line of thinking originally, but now the more I think about all of stories, reports and fights we've all seen...The question becomes...Who knows for certain? How many fighters shouldn't have lost to certain opponents or even just fought better, but fought like crap because of weight drain/dehydration/malnutrition and other complications brought on by something as simple as hydration. Im sure it'll probably have its own thread soon enough.

Could gatti have fought better against floyd? Could roy have done better against Tarver? Cotto against Manny? Geale against cotto? if they were given these injections. In certain cases maybe they were an lost anyway (depending on what the overseeing authorities allowed)... but how do we know for certain? is this the (partial) antidote to being weight drained by an opponent?

Everything was going along swimmingly for Floyd until he picked Berto, now with the PPVs in the tank Floyd has decided to spice things up! I don't think it will help much as few fans are interested in Berto vs Floyd. If it wasn't for the undercard it would be a dud. I'm not buying this one.

Floyd is a huge money earner for Vegas. They have no interest whatsoever in any of this being made public. Only one extremely well connected journalist managed to get the story which shows you that nobody was talking to the press about this. Vegas would rather the whole thing went away in case it affects Floyd's marketability. They're opening a new MGM arena next year and you can guarantee they're going to offer Floyd a lot of money to have the first fight there.

You know the only guy more terrified than Floyd that he'll test positive? The head of the Nevada State Athletic Commission. It's his worst nightmare that he catches Floyd cheating.

And anyway, we've been told for years that Floyd isn't even a natural welter and he can eat breakfast on the morning of the weigh-in. All of a sudden he needs to rehydrate by IV?
