    Default carpal tunnel syndrome

Any of you guys ever have this. I have it in both hands. My hands keep going numb, stiff and full of pain..the last thing I want is surgery and I'm curious if anyone has tried physical therapy with success.

My wife has it! Both hands fall asleep.

I have bought a hand strap which was cheap and she puts on in the night.

The better straps keep the hand straight.

She will try exercise but does not want the surgery done.

Yes master, invest in a better brace. It really helps. The one I got has a curved piece of metal that prevents your hand from bending a certain way. Still, it only helps to a degree, hence my question about PT

Master, I'll dig up the box for you. It cost me around 37 US. Problem being I only got one for my right hand but now have it in my left as well. I'm going to make an appointment for a hand specialist today.

Damn, just made an appt. With a specialist and I can see him this Friday, usually specialists are booked for a month in the US. Who the hell knew a Walrus could get carpal tunnel. I'm obsessing a bit over this as I'm scared of surgery so Forgive my rambling.

The surgery is quick and easy from what I heard.

Yeah my wife had it due to too much Facebook and had to have surgery. They just cut a band that holds the tendons together to release the pressure.

My wife must have it from washing the dishes too much. Wonder why walrus has got it?

In America we actually work, plus every time I read one of your posts my middle finger on both hands pop up uncontrollably. Actually master, I doubt our wife got it from washing dishes alone. Repetitive movements can set it off but weird things like hormones can play a big part. I'm trying to read up on it. A number of years ago I broke most of the bones in my right hand and about a month ago my hand got smashed at work. I'm still trying to pin it down myself. It's just a downright pain in the ass.

It must be trauma that you had to your hand as you described.

Dr said I'll probably need it. He said the surgery takes him ten minutes. That probably translates to 1000 a minute.

Or you could look at it as no pain for many many years into the future. It's a buck a week or something.
