    Anybody got anything on why Pac left Murad for Arum? Was it for the better?

    I like the use of the word "legacy".

    I used that quite a bit to discuss Floyd. My argument has been: A guy like Oscar De La hoya became the cash cow- not just because of his fame with women, but because he went after fighters like Swee-Pea rated P4p & no catch weights, an undefeated Ike Quartey to Tito Trinidad to Hopkins- again no catch weight because he was chasing legacy, creating a "spectacle"- where people pay to see-can he really do it?

    So chasing the "legacy" allowed the money to follow. Floyd IMO was chasing the money.......hoping "legacy" would follow.
    Floyd's legacy is going to include being able to speak clearly and wipe his own ass well into old age.

    He'll probably use his money to pay someone to do that!

    Great post, and exactly the point I always make when it comes to Floyd. Oscar doesn't have the record that Floyd does (undefeated), but he fought undefeated/prime Genaro Hernandez, Rafael Ruelas (1 defeat at the time), Shane Mosely (HOF/P4P), Tito Trinidad (HOF/P4P), Ike Quartey (P4P), Miguel Angel Gonzales, Fernando Vargas (1 defeat), Bernard Hopkins (2 defeats/P4P/HOF), Manny Paquiou, and Pernell Whitaker (1 defeat/HOF/P4P at the time).

    Oscar MADE those fights happen. Ray Leonard MADE fights vs. Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Benitez...etc. Manny MADE fights against Barrera, Ledwaba, Morales, JMM, Cotto, and Oscar (Manny was a HUGE underdog vs. Oscar). Hop MADE his fights vs. Tito, Tarver, Roy, Pavilik, Kovalev, Joe C....etc.

    Floyd is an ATG fighter and it was great to watch him during his prime years when he was striving to make a name for himself. That being said, for whatever reason, he missed some of the really big/best opponents that would have sealed his LEGACY and that hurts him on most P4P lists (of respected historians).

    One correction was that when Oscar fought bhop it was at a catch weight of 157 I believe.

    There is also no denying that Oscar really fought everyone which is a rarity. Most people avoid some fighters over there career but Oscar literally fought everybody.

    Hop weighed in at 157 to prove a point, there was no catch weight. I don't recall Oscar EVER dictating a catch weight, and if anyone had the clout to do it, it was him. Mosely is another guy who fought EVERYONE. Floyd fought good comp, but nowhere near what his talent and fame were worthy of.

    What's all this hater stuff, we're all boxing fans. Can't we have a different opinion about boxers and how they manage their careers?
    There are times when I bad-mouth Floyd, but some of you force me to do it! Floyd gets a pass on a lot of decisions he makes but when other fighters try the same thing some of you jump all over them! That pisses me off!
    Oh boy! Floyd, he's the greatest! He makes the most money! He deserves an easy fight! Man, nobody tells Floyd what to do! Floyd's wonderful! TBE, GOAT, and he has the most women!
    When Khan tries to maneuver himself into a big money fight with Floyd, everyone calls him a money hungry prick! Money is always on Floyd's mind but when Khan does the same thing it's wrong.
    Floyd's the best, that can't be denied but that doesn't mean he should get everyone's respect. There are many fighters I respect more than Floyd.
    As for Manny, I guess Floyd is the only boxer who has never lied. Right?

    U make a valid point about guys throwing tantrums and whining when u r fair in ur assessment of Floyd. It seems like numerous posters until u go back as read them again and realize it's the same 3 or 4 posters (may even be the same guy with multiple accounts). The troll/Floyd buffers r fun to mess with from time to time, so I'm happy they r here. For true boxing discussions, I really only pay attention to guys like Master, Iaminuit, Titofan, Slimtrae...etc. Every forum has its trolls, but this one is much better than the other ones I've posted on. Just laugh at the delusional TBE posts and focus on the value added posters and their discussions.

    To gain respect, Mayweather should:

    1. Fight and not run just to get points;Hello,this is boxing sports and not 100-meter dash;
    2. Not be using drugs in his fights;
    3. Fight Pac again to remove all the doubts as to his drug use.

    Think of the ring for the moment as the human brain. Some choose to use only a certain portion of it and ignore the rest. Some are incapable of using the rest that we have access to. Think of him what you will but he is neither one of those two.

    Both could have fought stiffer opposition, particularly late in their career. Fighting Maidana once was bad for me but 2 was shocking. Going out with Berto is also piss poor for one of the greatest ever. If he had lost and was well past it and just wanted to go out on a win then a poor opponent is acceptable.

    Pac fighting Rios and Algieri were very disapointing for me, particularly Rios. Also his failure to agree to different drug tests always brings down my opinion of someone.

    Another thing Ive always been disappointed with is both fighters always picking the weight and having far too many catchweights. Floyd particularly left a bad taste here because Im certain he would have beaten his opponents at any weight even if giving away the extra pounds.
