I tried to get tickets for the World Cup 18 months or so ago. I got none, but was offered first priority in the second round of tickets for what remained.

As all the London and South West tickets were gone; there was Brighton left; but I am not stupid, I was not going to pay £30/£40 on a South Africa mismatch; I even forgot the opposition... until today!

Bloody hell, Japan have just beaten the Springboks!!!!!! The biggest upset in rugby World Cup history, methinks.

The japan v south africa game was brilliant, I was just waiting for japan to get tired and south africa to pull away but they never did, hats off to the japs they played great, I am worried for scotland now :S.... Although I suspect japan used up a huge amount of energy in that game and may struggle for the rest of the tournament, I hope not though !

Yes, it turned out I was rather stupid. But although @superheavyrhun got the irony, as an Englishman he will realize I will comeback; so here, according to the BBC a list of the top six Rugby World Cup upsets:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/34269878

    Note in Particular:

    1991: Western Samoa 16 Wales 13
    1999: Samoa 38 Wales 31
    2007: Fiji 38 Wales 34

Oh, I am sorry, a double post!

I am really sorry, a triple post mistake, who would be silly enough to do that?!

    And now they have won!

Which is good as long as England win their group as that means no New Zealand until the final, and they always choke outside their homeland in the World Cup...

Good final last night NZ were a class act but the Aussies put up a fight and nearly came back. Think I will but the All Black jersey as it looks cool.

Six weeks of Rugby and the All Blacks win... 95% could have told you that before it started!

Seriously though, an excellent tournament with the brilliance of the Southern Hemisphere shining through.

The inquests for the North must be, but will not be serious.

Personally I have come to the conclusion that England should pull out the six nations (leaving a space open for Georgia), freeing up a few weeks in the English season and thus being able to finish the season a month early and play the Southern Hemisphere sides in May/June every year, perhaps with a view to joining the Four Nation tournament.
