They don't believe in freedom of speech. (also, as Greenbeanz said, these people are specifically picked by these TV firms).

I think he did well to embarrass himself sounding like a thick child. He has zero concept of individual freedom or that his 'choices' stop at another mans feet.

On the flipside, in a way it looks similar to religious zealots we have here in some areas. I cannot walk into some public stores without three women shouting "repent and he shall forgive you of sin" at every single customer.

It's strange, I see mention of MRC which I am not familiar with but it is a sixty minutes segment which is regular network and left or liberal leaning in the US.

This Sharia stuff is strange, it's not out of the Koran, I think it is a collection of rules attributed to Mohammed. These guys are so narrow minded. I feel like smacking them when they speak however I don't condone violence and wish them well.

Ones relationship with their country is personal and every story is different. People connect to their country in different ways. I will always consider myself British and have a very thorough understanding of my country. It means I accept the good points but will not lie about the bad. That is not delusion, it is called reality.
I am perfectly calm mate. It was you who said that the chump in the video had a point. I was merely suggesting that the argument you both make does not stack up. You are both deluding yourself if you think where you are born does not define you in any way. Of course like you point out it is not the whole story of who you are but it certainly makes a difference.

The difference like you point out, is that you, like myself, are happy to call yourself British and accept all of that history both good and bad. Considering your education you probably know more about a lot of our history than I do. The guy in the video thinks that being born in a stable does not make him a horse and yet if were to be raised by horses he would certainly neigh a bit and come to appreciate the finer qualities of Hay and a good whinny now and then.

The moral is if you are born in the UK you should adopt our prejudices as well and learn how to tell people to go home, even if that is just your annoying Uncle Raj over here on Holiday
I think he makes a point. Let's assume he was raised by dominant Muslims in a restricted upbringing, then how could he share 'British' values? It doesnt define him. Where I think he is wrong is finding small pockets of similar support to try and force change on ordinary British people. As an immigrant that peculiarity hits home in a Monty Python kind of way. I dont share much in common with someone like that and really only aspire for more traditional British based systems of fairness and the end of financialisation. If Sally wants to pet pissed and hang out with gay George then I couldnt care less. The only thing I would likely agree with this man on is war.

Gentleman, we all delude ourselves, in my case it is one of the few things that prevents me from swallowing my handgun, that and my cat Baxter.
