As a fighter I believe that Ali in his first reign as Champion had all the tools and then he got religion if you call it that. The thing with Ali was that he wasn't too bright & he got over excited too easily; he was virtually like a child when he was in pre-fight mode.

He said some terrible things to Smokin' Joe, but I don't believe the meant those things truly.
