I'm a fan of hunting, I don't get to go as much as I'd like, but I'm not one of those "I want to kill an animal just because" kind of hunters and in all honesty I have not come across any hunters (in the circles I run in) that do that. I think if you cull an animal then it is your job to make the most use out of what you have taken because that is responsible and the respectful thing to do.

The hunters I know are the greatest stewards of nature and conservation that I know of....but I can't speak for 100% of all hunters, just the ones I know. I know there are poachers and those guys ought to be drawn and quartered...the poachers in the US, Canada, wherever all of them.

You are right kabong, never thought much about it but the hunters I know are very much in tune with nature. One of them repeats an old native American prayer of thanks and blessing for the animal when he makes a kill. I made the decision many years ago never to hunt again. I was tempted a few years ago when my friends in Maine decided to go hunting with black powder weapons but after I took a few target shots I realized I'd have trouble shooting the side of a barn with a muzzle loaded musket I left it to the pros. I can empathize with those who are anti hunting, I think irresponsible hunters give that group plenty of fodder but in my state the government has hired professional hunters on occasion if the deer population explodes which tends to have them starve to death in the winter and numerous auto accidents. Venison isn't a bad meat, but not amongst my favorites. Huntings not my cup of tea but if you are a responsible hunter or live off the grid and feed your family, have at her. If you are in the woods to kill things and leave them to rot, your an asshole.

Talk about blending in to the environment. The fall colours are the colours of this animal at this time of year.

A coyote pair from last winter. You can really see the male/female subtle differences. Just like dogs, one did not like the other one being that close for a second.
