A Hatton-Castillo fight is one that needs to happen.
I'm interested to see how Castillo looks at 140. The funny thing is that even moving up five pounds Castillo's probably still gonna have to work hard to make the weight. Just look at the last weigh in before the third Corrales fight was supposed to happen. Castillo weighed in, at what 139.5? And even at that he looked like death, like he had to boil down just to get to that weight.
Wowooowowow, did you give me my 900th?!?! Thanks bro,CC back. Totally agree,JLC Hatton needs to happen but it appears as Hatton will only have fought once this year, what a let down for the fighter of the year 2005...
You raise a very very interesting issue,Dan Goossen nailed the same issue in a very very lengthy video I saw,he stated that JLC WILL NOT be able to make 140,he looked like he was ill or sick when he weighed 139.5 and Dan thought that he should be fighting at 147. He even told Chico that, the first time,he beat one of the best WW out there and I'd have to agree. Cstillo is damaging himself and his team need to take responsibility for it. Great points Ouma.
It should make for an entertaining fight when it happens, lets just hope things go to plan and it comes off !
Talk of either NYC, or Vegas ( due to the large hispanic support ) for the Castillo fight i've heard.
Castillo has looked big for the weight for a while now, will interesting to see what he walks into the ring at on the night, will he be bigger than Ricky ?
Hatton, as may know has been in the states for a couple of weeks now, on a promo tour for the Urango bout, and of course to support Barrera. Talk has it a few of them popped into Mayweathers favourite lapdancing bar![]()
to see if he was around
, unfortunately he wasnt
. I wonder what what have happened if the two were to have bumped into each other

I think Castillo lays a hurtin on Hatton...Ricky will not be able to manhandle Castillo, Jose is PFP one of the roughest and toughest in Boxing today, Jose also dosent mind it messy on the inside I dont really see one advantage that Hatton has over Castillo
I appreciate what ya saying JT Rock.
Ricky is one of the fittest, hard working, non-stop, relentless, comeforward, brutal inside fighting machines you will find in the game today. So as far as Castillo goes, i think it will be a war, possibly fight of the year![]()

Will certainly be a fight of the year contender but I favour the younger man,Hatton,he looks more bull like and beast like at 140,Castillo is 31 now too, surely all the fights will catch up to him. I would have to go with Hatton and it would be a very very impressive win.
Very true Hatton is very relentless and dosent stop.... I cant wait for this fight to come off, I just think Castillo being the bigger stronger guy and an absolute solid chin with that double decker of a lefthook gives him the advantage over Hatton.... Hatton would probably be the underdog going in, If Hatton pulls out a win then there is no more questions about his legitimacy and the whole he beat an old uninterested TszyuOriginally Posted by Mattyhitman

It really does sound like your decribing Hatton the way you talk about the left hooks and solid chin. As for weight advantage, Ricky is by far the naturally heavier guy. This for me will tell in the fight as it reaches the mid-way point. The naturally bigger boxer wearing down his weaker opponent. This happens all to often.
But i do agree on the fact that it will be a pulsating match up![]()

I think its a viable question, you would think that he should be able to but he looked horrible at that weigh in.Originally Posted by El Gamo
He needs to though cause Castillo-Hatton is one of those that needs to be made.
would of made for a great build up to Hatton v Mayweather later next yearOriginally Posted by Mattyhitman

i like castillo. this will be a fight of the year fight.
I think some credit needs to go to the Hatton camp for the match-making here. Juan Urango is the perfect fighter for ricky to adjust to coming back down to 140, and also stylistically, becuase to as far as I can remember, this is the first fight Hatton has had in a long long time where his opponent is actually going to come all the way forward and slug it out with him, just like Castillo. Also, no one rule Urango out just yet, anyone with a big punch can win a fight!
As for Hatton vs Castillo, as long as Hatton is good at the weight, as he always is thanks to his incredible training and preparation, he is the favourite in this fight, everything Castillo does, I think Hatton does just a little bit better, strength, punch output, defence, speed, footwork, power, equal chins, left hook, body punching, and most importantly stamina. The only thing I can think of that Castillo does better is his jab, although Hattons has improved a lot, especially when using it to finish a combo, something few fighters do.
Castillo can win this if he can get into a rhythm, when he is in a rhythm, he is like a puzzle that you can't figure out, even Mayweather couldn't, he's a really good thinker in the ring, but I doubt he will be able to resist going toe to toe like he did with Corrales, and he'll be outslugged IMO by Hatton.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
