The "I think everyone should live under Sharia"/"We're bringing Sharia to countries that already have laws" crowd is the dangerous Islamic political arm of those who would participate/fund terrorist attacks against us....huge difference between the "We don't want Halloween" people and the "Kill the infidels" crowd

I know there is a huge difference.

Halloween is some kind of Satanist routine intent on normalising evil creatures such as vampires and demons. Plus it encourages begging and knocking on strangers doors. When you think about it Halloween doesn't really offer anything constructive. It is kiddie bankerism. Ban it!

I mean dress up as something nice like the milky bar kid or Dumbo and give something to your neighbour instead. Now that's positive. The neighbor might even give you back even more. Suddenly instead of vampirism you have sharing. I understand why Halloween is the more trendy option.

Would you say that it's a bit like the "we think everyone should live under 'democracy'/We are bringing democracy to countries that already have their own political systems ...... which is the dangerous political arm of those who who would participate and fund illegal wars?

Fuck me, I'm sounding like a bloody lefty. I better sit down and cool my forehead for a while.

Hey, could be, could be and maybe it's a communication problem, but for those of us who know and understand democracy/representative republics as opposed to authoritarian theocracies know that those kinds of governments (democracies & republics) are more open, more productive, more accepting, and more free. In the democracies/republics you can still practice your religion...but you have to follow a few rules which one would assume ALL religions would accept: life, liberty(so long as it does not conflict with the 'life' portion of these rights), estate(you keep what you own/create through gift or trade).....outside of those rights you can follow any religion you like as closely as you like...so what is there to not accept about that?

The Constitution of the United States (and yes how tired all of you must be reading about that) LIMITS government...rule by any (repeat ANY) religious book alone limits your individual liberty (especially the liberty of women IMO).

I don't know if Islam itself is to blame or if it's partly to blame or if it's specifically the Pakistani/Afghani/Indian/Middle Eastern cultures and of course the cultures and religion (and the different sects therein). You take something like the Catholic Priest pedophile scandal and compare it to this and you'd have the same kind of questions...is it the religion? is it the culture? is it just a lack of proper education? Or are there just some very evil people around in this world? All I am sure are true to some extent or another....but I having been born and raised Protestant Christian I can't explain the Catholic Priest mess any more than I can explain the rape epidemic in India or the scandal in Rotherham. I just want clarification on these subjects, we as freedom loving (some of us) citizens should find the root cause of these issues and nip it in the bud. With the Catholics the priests can't marry, they can't have sexual relations, the pool of talent the Catholics are picking their priests from is small enough already with it being just men, but to throw in all the extras it's a recipe for disaster as we've witnessed. And see those little details I understand about the Catholic Priests gives me some understanding of what went wrong, what was to blame.....I don't have that kind of clarity for what is happening in India and what happened in Rotherham.

Actually, your reasoning has logic. The Bush plan to bring democracy to Iraq and Afghanistan didn't work too well. Perhaps it was a noble effort but with all the hopes of the Arab spring it didn't look to good. Having said at, I have no clue what the answer is.
