Someone needs to explain how there is a catchweight title and who holds it, because by definition it cannot happen.
I suspect people do not know what catchweight means, which a few years ago on this forum what not be the case. Come on newbies, smarten up!

Ban catch weights and everyone associated with them from boxing forever.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Small hall promoters need them desperately, they can keep a bill together if there is a late pull out. Plus there can be some cracking match ups.
I remember a Journeyman Cruiserweight coming in on same day notice to fight the unbeaten Light Heavyweight banger Nicky Piper... The then Adrian (Carl) Thompson won in a big upset and went on to have a stellar career.
That catchweight bout saved a TV date and helped to start to make a big future domestic name. And it did little long term harm to Piper either.
A young John Conteh fought quite a few heavyweights. It was a way of challenging his talent, but without the cost of bringing in expensive quality imports. And I think you will agree Conteh did not have too bad a career.
Catchweight matches will always be needed.

Hearns was always going to make the weight for the Andries fight, as he had been fighting at 154 and 160. It was also for an alphabet title so was never going to be a catchweight match, Hearns was only interested in the title.
Conteh was fighting at 175ish, thus they were generally catchweight matches. His first defeat was as such.
