Default Joe Tessatore pisses me off

Over the past two weeks on espn.com Joe Tessatore had written a year in review for both WNF & FNF. 2 things in particular piss me off and show he is a shameless homer.

    1) In the WNF review he names the New Alahambra venue of the year. Fine, great I have been there, it is a good place. But then he writes "The New Alhambra has taken the place of the Blue Horizon as the home of Philly boxing" Where does he get off making a statement like this? I have been to the last 10 shows at the Blue and he was nowhere to be found! Ol Joe is a Philly boy, i guess this is a case of kissing Russell Peltz ass.

    2) This chaps my ass even more, in the FNF Fighter of the year section he boldly states that "Sergio Mora is undoubtedly one of the best TV fighters around" He must be joking or is negotiating a new contract with ESPN or something.

Teddy should be giving these awards out, not Joe!

    Nice rant, Philly Keith.

I see nothing wrong with this statement.

ESPN Names New Alhambra Boxing Venue Of The Year

Philadelphia—In a recent column on the ESPN.com/boxing website, blow-by-blow announcer Joe Tessitore named the New Alhambra in South Philadelphia as the best place to watch a fight over the recent Wednesday Night Fight series on ESPN 2. In Tessitore’s weekly column, this one dated Aug. 8, Tessitore gave awards for the five-month WNF series, including Fight of the Year, Knockout of the Year, etc..

When he got to Venue of the Year, Tessitore had this to say about the New Alhambra:

“…perhaps more than any other sport, the feel and look of boxing on TV is greatly affected by the setting we are in. Picking the best host site of WNF 2006 is a tough call. We visited some outstanding arenas and fight venues. The fans play a big role in this choice, too. Most of the fans are smart and passionate. Most of the venues were a perfect fit. I struggled with this, but I find it tough to pick a better venue than the New Alhambra in South Philly. It is packed with fans—real fight fans. They seem to have a rooting interest in each fight, even the four-round swing bouts. Hall of Fame promoter J Russell Peltz lines the walls with black-and-white posters of legends. The whole atmosphere is like something out of an old school boxing movie. The New Alhambra has taken the place of the Blue Horizon as the home of Philly boxing. It’s a must-visit for every fight fan.”

The 1,200-seat New Alhambra in located at the corner of Swanson & Ritner Streets, next to Forman Mills, in South Philadelphia.

And I don't understand why you are angry because Sergio got one of the best TV fighters of the year. He has been on television more than any one and he did win a TV reality show. I guess TV fighter fits him just fine. Had Joe said Sergio is the best in the world or something crazy like that, then I could understand your point

And I personally like watching a man that hits like fairy beat the crap out of his tougher opponents. And I love when people say it. I love the anger they display in their rants. I love the fact that they can't do shiet about it but hate and post some stupid shiet like 'he's a douche".

I will give Sergio credit, he looked good kicking Regans arse this past weekend. You actually changed my mind I can see why he was chosen now due to all the TV time he has gotten this year.

As for the New Alahambra, 1) I am not saying that it isn't an excellent choice for WNF venue of the year, but it hasn't taken over the Blue Horizon. 2) These fans are die hards. It isn't the Alahambra bringing them in, it is the love of the sport. You will see the same faces at almost every show in the city.

But who the fuck is Regan? Mora is a punk and I hope he gets his face smashed in...Paulie Malinaggi down and Sergio Mora to go!!!

Philly! I don't care about Philly, their fighters usually get spent in the gym (hence the term Philly fighter is not a good thing to be called)

I was quoting on the way Mora carries himself....and the fact that he only has 3 KO's in 19 fights...that is hitting like a fairy...gift decisions also come to mind (Manfredo)...so when you get off the Mora teat and wipe your chin and the glazed look over your eyes is gone you will know 3 things...The Blue Horizon is and always will be the Philly Boxing spectacle, Sergio Mora is a good but not great fighter that will have his arse handed to him when he steps up in competition and you have got to be the biggest Mora nut hugger on the planet!!!! his woman/man must have to pry you off just to get some "alone time".

OMG another Manfredo nuthugger. Get out from under his skirt and admit he did not do enough to win that second fight. All the Italians and Manfredo nut huggers thought he won. He did nothing against a sick and injured Mora. When Mora steps up and gets his azz handed to him like you say, I will not be disapointed. Almost everyone loses. At least we can say he got beat by some one good. At least he won't have a defeat to Alfonso Gomez on his record. LMAO
and if you come at me with the line that you are not a Manscaredo fan, you are lying and I will tell you to come out of the closet but I think you already did that when you brought up his name.
Actually, you won't be able to come at me with that cus I just found this:

Talk about nut hugger. You were so bold as to put him on your top 5
    LMSFAO

Poor Sergio has still not made my true list.

Screw Philly and Screw the skirt wearing fraud you mentioned. I wish I could of seen the glazed look on your face disapear when your boy lost. I am sure you were crushed. Oh well. Sorry. I bet you secretly have posters of him in that Italian skirt he wears. What a joke. I am personaly emberrasses for you.

    Done!
