Also Vitali is 6'8 and used that to his advantage all the time, he was pretty skilled defensively for being such a power puncher and also he was very athletic and moved quite well in the ring, Big George was more of a plodder, very strong, but so focused on 1 or 2 big hard punches that Ali was able to roll with them and all while George laid his head right straight in front of Ali so he got countered badly. Vitali was also very accurate with his punches and he had a very good sense of timing as well both punching and reacting to punches coming his way.

You make some very valid points, which I respect,but I still think prime Ali had more than enough ring savvy and skill and mobility to deal with Vitali. I'm not one of those who believe Ali was the Greatest HW of all time, I'm not sure about that because I think we missed Ali's prime years. But that's a whole different story.
