When I came home from 'entertaining' the troops in Vietnam 1972. That is when Cassius Jr. gave
    me grief.

My Television Special was in 1976. Just before my Television Special was about to start,
Cassius came by the studio with Flowers and Candy. He got down on his knee's and begged
    forgiveness.

He 'begged' to be on my Television Special.

He said he was wrong about all the 'foul' things he said. He started to cry like a little boy. I felt
pity for him. Because he was really not that bright.

I told him that he could on my Television Show, if he behaved like a human being.

    He bowed to my commands.

Stop making this stuff up you are embarrassing yourself.

    It's not entirely his fault.
Rather I think it's his imaginary friends that come by and visit him at his room at the Psych Ward.
They're the ones who come up with these stories.

My old man said he sat in the door once and listened to some guy with "celebrity status" nearly sob and piss himself as they took fire flying out of a fob. Always thought he meant some actor or singer with little business there, but turned out it was a spit polish fast tracked Major who still had clean fingernails and all his creases and shine on the pins

    Carroll Baker in Vietnam {1965}

"They said that the Heavyweight Champion was coming with us on the U.S.O. Tour. But he never showed up."

"One of the other Girls said that he was afraid. And I said, you mean Sonny Liston is afraid."

"And the other Girl said. No, not Sonny Liston. It's that other guy."

    "But nobody knew his name."

"He wasn't all that popular or famous anyway. And, I didn't know he was a Big Chicken."

Ali took his stand for better or worse. He stood out for better or worse. I have never thought of him as being "the greatest of all time" that's how he thinks of himself. He was a great boxer and I never doubted that but the greatest? Nope.

Joe Louis is the greatest of all time, he has the stats to back it up.

As for the celebrities who did USO tours, God bless them, that was the absolute least they deserved. Vietnam was a shit war illegally started by Democrats...and conveniently blamed on Nixon.

Vietnam started America's communist revolution....commies infiltrated media, education, and government.

So much so that some "Americans" wanted us to lose the war....you saw it again in Iraq and Afghanistan...these fucking surrender monkeys have no clue how good they have it....and due to young men willing to sacrifice everything for the American way of life.

Troops shouldn't be sent to slaughter for no reason and they shouldn't be welcomed back with disdain and contempt either.
