Haha! Now there is some real false modesty, I'm certain you know as much or more than most of the 'experts' about punching power.
It's just that I've read about punching power for years and I'm convinced there is no one definitive answer. Some fighters hit harder, for a combination of reasons, maybe.😏
Nigel Benn and G Man both had vicious one punch power.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Prime Roy had some scary power. Two examples: His one shot of Montell in the rematch and his body shot that cracked Virgil Hill's vertebrae. To make things worse, those examples are at light heavy, and Roy was probably at his best at super middle.
Similar to Roy, I would argue that Naz had some very intimidating one punch power. Like Roy, he was unorthodox and could end the fight in the blink of an eye.
Young Oscar and Tito both had great power. Look at some of Oscars early blowouts over Leija, Troy Dorsey, and Raf Ruelas. Watch Tito destroy guys with a single body shot, or beautiful hook to the chin.
Not really. I'm not qualified to speak with any certainty on the matter but I'm convinced of one thing and that is that you are born with power. The proper technique gets the most out of it just as much as it gets the most out of a weak puncher but some of these guys could knock you out on their toes. Peds have muddied the waters but I think that is a sure thing. I also agree once again with what you said above. Nothing is fixed and the lanky guys stand out because they are lanky. But just as many Barbados Joe Walcotts and Langford types could have made the list but its just Ring chose those 10 for their most recent list. Most places list Walcott at 5'1'' but he was more like 4' 10". How did he get them big guys out of there? Interesting topic.
Ps- Many of those guys that we all dismiss as having zero pop as to their pro record would most likely cold cock every person on this forum or any other. If a chap like Paulie Malignaggi got a clean shot in on me, I'd probably put him on the list when I regained consciousness.![]()

Michael Moorer is another under rated heavy handed hitter. I think he is one of the few that lost power moving up. LHW a monster puncher. HW solid puncher.
All's lost! Everything's going to shit!
Alfonso Zamora
Many of his Knockouts were 'One-Punch' kablitzers.
A literal 1-punch KO can be hard to find. Foreman's KO of Moorer looks like one, but was actually preceded by a big punch earlier. Julian Jackson may have had Terry Norris out on his feet after one punch, but it was the subsequent combo that put him to the canvas.
Marquez's KO of PacMan probably qualifies...iirc it was literally one punch that caught Manny coming in and then lights-out. But Manny had already hit the canvas in that fight, so how much did the accumulation of punches affect him?
Some famous body-blow KO's certainly qualify (Hopkins - ODLH; RJJ Virgil - Hill) but body blows are a tad different. It more about placement than power...the victim is usually still conscious.
So if we define a "clean" 1-punch KO as:
1. The victim has not absorbed an accumulation of punches
2. He's unconscious,
3. Only one meaningful punch lands in the sequence
Then this is probably the cleanest 1-punch KO that comes to mind:
Some great mentions. When I think one punch guys and not sure about numbers but I think guys that literally short circuit you with lead or counter. Few favs that have left many in a pile
Ricardo Lopez. Either hand either foot.
Engles Pedroza. Some iffy comp but as natural a brick layer as there was.
Wilfredo Gomez
O'Neil Bell had some awkward scary pop
Ruben Olivares
Julian Jackson
Benn
Louis
Bob Foster
Chico Corrales, Naz, Jones Jr, Valero, Bailey
Tall thin framed fighters have leverage like baseball pictures.
I'd have to imagine it was The Hawk Julian Jackson. One punch KO in both hands!
