on the Boxing forum, we're forever banging on about ATG's, TBE, GOAT, well in Rugby Union,this guy is it!
It is said that even when he was at his peak, because of his Kidney problem, he was only operating at about 70%.That is incredible. He singlehandedly changed the sport forever .
Very sad day for Rugby Union.

Only just found out about half n hour ago that he died. I knew he had problems with his kidney but I thought he was over it. Sad day. Rugby does not have a load of superstars like other sports but he was the first and still is, the biggest name in Rugby. I remember what he did in 95 world cup, I was 13, it was incredible.

His national rugby career was like his life, short. he stopped playing for the all blacks at 26, (his peak years) he kidney problems dogged him throughout his career, but his legacy still lives on.

And although annoyed the Underwoods made money off of this, I found it amusing, showing the two sides of Lomu's Rugby persona: his ferociousness, but also prepared to be the butt of a joke:

I'm completely shocked. Lomu was a force of nature, a wrecking ball on the pitch who forever changed the game of rugby union. Never has there been a man of 6'5" and 19 stone who had such good hands, such good balance and who could run the 100m in just over ten seconds.

Nobody has a bad word to say about the guy off the pitch either.

A true legend, rest in peace Jonah. The game of rugby that they play up in heaven has just got a lot harder!!
