    He was probably the best player I have ever seen, a large athletic guy strong just brilliant, what a pity and always came across as nice guy. RIP

    Wow, just wow. Don't follow rugby that closely so had no idea Van Der Westhuizen was battling motor neurons disease. I remember watching the 95 final and thinking it was some sort of miracle that SA could keep Lomu quiet. Very touching video.


    Any sporting great you care to mention, Lomu is right up there with them as a man who truly transcended his sport. His career was short, he never won a World cup, but his mark on global rugby is one that will never be forgotten.
