Default *Did* Muhammad Ali ~get away~ with "too" much 'cheating' in the "ring"?

I dont caREwhat ANYONE says, I have NEVER in all my 21 years seen ANY ropes as loose as those in Zaire for the Rumble. If you watch closely in the first round, Ali was able to stick his ass into the middle rope and plant his heels, pushing backwards so that Foreman when his full reach was extended COULD NOT HAVE REACHED ALI'S CHIN. Then as Foreman's arm returned to punching position Ali would ~spring~ off the ropes like a boomerang and jolting forward quickly grab Foreman behind the head Klitschko-style and pull down on his neck.

No question the ropes were loosened. Who grabs behind the neck/cheats his way to victory/had the judges kissing his ass/never got penalized a point more: Ali or Klitschko?

Yea I think he did a lot of dodgy stuff didn't het get smelling salts and rip his gloves in copper fight ? Also think he got a lot of gifts I had Ken Norton wining all 3 fights. Amazes me how anyone can have his as the best boxer of all time wouldn't make my top 10

He seriously lost all three fights to Ken Norton. He seriously lost the fight to Earnie Shavers. He definitely lost the fight to Jimmy Young. He definitely lost the fight to Doug Jones. He should have been disqualified in the Thrilla in Manila. Some people think he lost the rematch to Leon Spinks. Some people think he lost the second fight with Joe Frazier. And on top of that he lost the first fight to Joe Frazier and he lost the first fight to Ken Norton and he lost the first fight with Leon Spinks and he lost to Larry Holmes and he lost to Trevor Berbick. To put icing on the cake he lost to Rocky Marciano in the computer fight. We are talking about a guy who has at least 10 or 12 losses here.

He makes my top 10 of all time without a doubt but not before guys like Joe Louis and Jack Johnson and Rocky Marciano and George Foreman and Larry Holmes for example

    Cassius Clay and Cheating.

That would be the under-statement of the 20th Century.

But that being said, he was one Hell of a Black Muslim Minister.

Interesting that before Dundee passed away stated the black Muslim always paid him but not Ray the Christian Leonard.

Rocky Marciano got away with a lot of cheating, low blows and dirty fighting.

Yet you have the audacity to say Ali did.

    You hypocrite.

Your boyfriend Bill will always agree with you when it comes to criticizing Ali.

If you are asking if Ali was smarter than the average fighter and Knew how to cheat, the answer is yes.
If you are asking if Angelo Dundee had seen everything and could react faster to any given situation, than anyone alive, the answer is yes.
If you are asking if Don King knew a lot of people in boxing and knew how spread money around to get what he wanted, the answer is yes.
If you are asking how Ali ever lost with Dundee in his corner and King promoting him, the answer is I don't know.
If you are asking if Ali was a great fighter, the answer is yes.
If you are asking if Ali was a first class prick for cheating so much, the answer is yes.
If you are asking if Ali was a mean spirited prick, the answer is I think so.

I couldn't care a shit to be honest, the man was great, Tyson was a shit and he was great, Mayweather was/is a shit and he was/is great.

Either love em or hate em yeah the best all have their faults but you can't deny their talent.

P.s. Please don't turn this into a mayweather thread I only mentioned him because he is still current, I was too young to see Ali and only caught the very end of Tyson.

Rocky Marciano undefeated 49 wins 0 losses 43 knockouts. Never pulled a rope a dope just kept coming forward like a bulldozer. No comparison to the cheap cashes clay
