Sounds like Cotto loses no matter what happens.
Not necessarily. If Cotto wins and them Canelo has a great career afterwards, it will be seen as a huge win.

    I was being facetious.

Of course it would be a huge win. There is the size and youth factor. Both squarely in Canelo's favor. And no need to speculate on Canelo's career. He'll be successful enough.... hell.... he's only 25. He'll have a great career in his own right, but hopefully (for me) tomorrow night won't be part of it.

It is good for boxing that Cotto wins this fight. Canelo is an overhyped fraudster who fights 1 minute a round. If Cotto doesn't beat Canelo then there are issues. Furthermore, Canelo is a ginger Mexican which indicates a degree of genetic inbalance. In a situation like this I always prefer the fruity Puerto Rican who sleeps with fat men.

I believe it is one sided and not very exciting.

Canelo either stops Cotto or takes a wide UD.

Canelo already has a good career, he's beaten some good fighters. He has 45 or so fights already at 25 which is pretty damn impressive. He is in his prime years right now. He wins this it sets him up to be the man and he has the frame to go up in weight. Cotto has probably one or two more years max left. So it would be better for boxing if Canelo looks impressive.

Cotto has always said he is not a real middleweight so it makes what he has acheived at the weight even more remarkable.

I don't believe he has ever fought "at the weight" . So we have the "lineal" (whatever that shit means) champion at 160lbs, who has never fought at 160lb, or had an opponent against him at 160 lb. hmmm.

Canelo may be relatively young, but let's not forgot that many fighters who start boxing at a young age professionally end up having an early prime. Canelo is only 25 but I don't think that his prime years will last much longer. He is a good fighter but this Cotto fight will be a huge win for him. If he loses, then he will have lost his 2 biggest fights of his career.

I just have never been sold on Canelo and I do think that Cotto will win. I don't even think that he is necessarily the best at 154 right now. I just doubt he will ever get over that edge into greatness.

I'm pretty sure some popular Mexican owned establishment in the area will be airing it on a flat screen or two.

I suppose the fight was a bit of a disappointment in the end

Freddie got cotto to fight a wise fight but not one that he was ever going to win
