Just caught up with the fights on Sky last night.3 things about Murray :
1. He hasn't got enough power at SMW to trouble AA too much .
2. He's had 4 World title attempts now,and maybe he's not quite at the necessary level.
3. All his challenges have been away from home, and with the exception of the GGG fight, at home, if we're honest, it's possible he could've won all 3 of the other fights. Murray's moved about a bit promoter wise and he's never built up enough of a following to get a home title shot. When he was with Hatton, he didn't have enough exposure or a TV deal, then he went with the South Africans fighting in Monte Carlo, and He never built up enough momentum to get a home shot. Now he's with Matchroom. Maybe if he'd been with them earlier, he may not have earnt as much initially, but they would've backed him more financially, and if he won a home title shot, then he could've earnt a lot more.
Very pleased for Crolla. He's been with Matchroom a while, built up a really good fan base, and his promoter not only got him a shot on home soil, he got him the rematch on home soil and Crolla has repaid that faith. They love him up in Manchester.
Would love to see him defend it against Mitchell!
