Khan , Froch, Degale, Frampton & Quigg to a degree "Biggest fight in the division, yet they've both systemically avoided the best fighter in the division." Joshua a bit (I like him, but how is him v Whyte worthy of PPV?) even Hatton to a degree, McGuigan. Do you want me to go on?

eerrrrrrrr if you wouldn't mind continuing then you might find someone who has been elevated to 'god like status'

Khan - I don't know a single Brit that has ever liked Khan let alone worship him in a god like way
Froch - had a great career but that majority of the british public didn't give two short sharp shiny shits about him before Groves single handedly created that fight
Frampton - again Frampton is a good fighter but the majority of non boxing fans have any interest in him, the Quigg fight has generated a bit of interest purely because it will be a good fight
    Quigg - see Frampton above
Joshua - fair enough the publicity that he has been getting is pretty frightening considering he has never been in the ring with any, blame sky's media machine for that
Hatton - put on a mega performance against kostya tszyu and then lost to the top two P4P's, that was a pretty damn good ride whilst it lasted and people found his personality outside of the ring endearing, he was just your average bloke down the pub, people could relate to him.
McGuigan - before my time so I can't comment on him but he has done a few reality TV shows and that didn't really make headlines or generate that much interest so if he ever was give godlike status I would say that has worn a little thin now

rather than just naming a load of Brit fighters why not provide examples of how they have been elevated in such a way?

You asked a question which I answered. I didn't want to go into great detail about my reasoning because I thought that it was nothing to do with the thread and I didn't want to bore everybody with another long detailed post, but if you bear with me , I will reply with reasons if it makes you happy, I'm sure you'll give me an hour or so, since you've taken 4 or 5 hours to write your reply.
And what I will say is that this isn't just aimed at British Boxers, but sportsmen in general.

Ha, no worries bud, you take your time, I've been at work all day so I couldn't reply straight away.
Your initial post did state 'Brit fighters' so I thought you were saying that we have more of a habit of doing it than others.

    No drama

Sorry to bore you all in advance, but this relates to Brits and their sportsmen in general. I know it's a bit idealistic, but I believe your earnings should relate to your status or quality. i.e. The best should earn the most. e.g. David Beckham was never in the top 20 players in the a World of his time, or the top 100 players ever, but he earns more than anyone , EVER. It's not personal, I like the guy. So using that theory, here goes.
Khan - how do people even consider him as an opponent for Floyd with his record over the last few years? He's not or hasn't proven that he's anywhere near the top of that tree.
Froch - was NEVER the no.1 in his division , he got to the final of the super 6 by default, lost twice in that tournament, but earns £8 million for a fight. Who in the World , earns £8 million a fight? Very few. Floyd, Pac , Canelo (?) , Cotto , . Is Froch the next best out there?
Frampton & Quigg - like I said before, Rigo is the one they avoid, Frampton even said they're below him, but they earn loads more than him. It's nothing against them , I like both of them and am looking forward to the fight, but like I said the Brits have erased Rigo and make them the best in the division.
Joshua - again, I like AJ, but a British title fight is never a PPV?
Hatton - I don't really want to criticise Hatton, he was a magnetic personality and I liked him a lot.
McGuigan - again, he was made out to be a World beater because he beat an ageing champion, and was never the best in his division, but the Brits insisted he was.
Like I said , I'm a bit Idealistic , but the reason there are more Brit champions than anywhere in the World, is because More get the opportunity to fight for it because of MONEY , not talent. Perfect example , Martyn Murray - he's had 4 shots at a World title, the latest in a division that he has done nothing at. How would you feel if you were a contender working like fuck to get your chance and he jumps the queue?
It's not personal, it's that the Brits think they're the best . It happens in every sport! It's a Brit thing. Sorry to bore you all.

That's a bit harsh on the Brits. Matchroom and FW don't have more clout than Haymon, Top Rank or GB.

Belts shouldn't mean anything to serious fans, however, to currently lead the world in alphabets is some achievement. Something must be working this side of the pond.

You've got me wrong, I think it's a massive achievement that this is one of the top 3 nations in Boxing, but it's undeniable that more Brits get the opportunity, especially at home to fight for World titles . A kind of law of averages thing. Most of the guys I mentioned , I actually like. it's about how the public exalt them. Good luck to them though.
