Well..... the Panthers go to 12-0, while the other previously undefeated team, the Patriots, fall to 10-2. And yet, this is how I see the teams at this point.
I think the Pats will be just fine once Amendola's at 100%, and Gronk and Edelman come back. Brady, regardless of how good he is, needs weapons. I think they'll be fine for playoff time. The Panthers are undefeated, but showed they can be vulnerable. They had to struggle to hold off the lowly Saints, and the pressure of remaining undefeated might get to them at some point. Still... they're a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs.
Of the other teams, the Broncos look great again... but I'd say they'd have a much better chance with Osweiler at QB. I know it's almost heresy to say that, and I've always been a huge Peyton fan.... but the writing's on the wall. Peyton's old and beat up. Still, I think when he's back from his injuries I feel the Broncos will put him back at starting QB.
The Seahawks are gaining momentum and looking scary again. I'd say they're possibly the best team in the NFC right now. Russell Wilson is playing great, and turning into a complete QB. He's always had the scrambling ability, but now he's doing tremendously well from the pocket. They totally blasted the Vikings this week.
So basically I think the NFC teams to beat are the Panthers, Seahawks, Packers, and Cardinals. The East Division isn't even worth mentioning at this point. I also think the balance of power has shifted a little toward the NFC, because when I look at the AFC, I only see the Patriots, Denver, and Cincinnati as having possibilities in the playoffs.
I'm rooting for the Patriots, because #1 I think Brady is one of THE best quarterbacks in NFL history, and he needs to thumb his nose at the league for the Deflategate scandal, and because #2 I like dynasties in the NFL and the Pats are pretty close to that point right now.
But my true favorite team is the Steelers, and I'd love nothing more than to have them win their 7th Super Bowl.
