I don’t think I have ever seen anything quite like Cortez in Hatton/Floyd in all my years of following the sport. Not because I was and am a fan of Ricky Hatton but because I have never seen anything quite like it in the category of complete hatchet jobs by referee’s.

Equally as disturbing is the response to that shit fest by many Floyd fans. “It didn’t make any difference in the outcome” or “Cortez never steered him to the turnbuckle” Those kinds of responses would be competing in the same contest as the hack job by Cortez but in a different category. Best slippery slope comments in boxing. Anyone who acknowledges the hack job which was obvious to a blind man and then concludes that it did not make any difference in the outcome that was a direct result from it has a boxing IQ of 30 and it takes 31 to bark.

This ref was pretty annoying, if only for looking like a complete Kunt.

Agreed. I was at the Direll Abraham fight. Dead center 7 rows back when Arthur dropped Direll...and didn't call it. Direll fans looked at each other ...wow that was a gift.

Joe Cortez, Richard Steele, Ascari the guy that reffed Benn McClellan, Kenny Baylass Floyd's old Mother Hen. Johnny Lo Bianco that let Duran hit Ken Buchanon low a good 3 seconds after the bell & counted him out saying it was legal. I could go on all night

Seen a couple of mentions of Joe Cortez with regards to Hatton....... but no mention of Dave Parris.
