Agreed. it's a stretch to put Rahim on the list. Maybe I'll call him an over achiever, not a tomato can.

Rahmin's win over Lewis reminds me of a then unknown untested Coutrney Bouton that knocked out Angel Manfreddy.
Watching Angel sit against the bottom rope making a motion with his hand...blank stare on his face and listening to ESPNs Joe Tessitore holler "what a HUGE" upset!!!

I didn't expect Courtney to become a work class fighter. I felt he just had Manfreddy on an off night.

Same with Hasim...he didn't have Lennox number...he just caught Lennox slipping.

I was at that fight. El Diablo looked like a handicapped man. Plus, his wreckless lifestyle had caught up with him by that time.

If you have Rahman then you got to have Oliver McCall who was a glorified sparring partner.

Vince Philips looked like a monster the night he beat Kostya. He was humiliated by Ike Quartey before that fight and I don't recall him beating anyone of note after. Was a solid fighter with decent skills though, so he may not fit the description.

Willy Wise over JCC? Wise had a shaky record over weak opposition, beat a past his prime JCC, and then never won another fight of note. I'm not sure if Willy is the right choice since JCC was past his prime, but picked him since JC superstar was still such a big name and huge favorite.

Mullings was a great example. Tough to beat that one.

    Rene Jacquot

Donald Curry brilliant boxing skills. Was building an impressive resume with wins over undefeated Marlon Starling, Milton McCrory, 58-1 Nino Larocca..
Captured WBC, WBA & IBF. Along trinket belts NABF & USBA.
    Nothing but title fights 1982-1986.

Losses to undefeated Lloyd Honeyghan & Body snatcher Mike McCallum brought his first two losses.
No shame, he regrouped 4 straight wins..and a title fight...against Gianfranco Rosi...Curry wins and he's back!!

1st title defence.. seeming stay busy fight against a 23-9 record fighter named Renee Jacquot who didn't just win, he outboxed Curry.

While Curry went on to lose to Nunn and Norris
Jacquot defeating Curry, followed up with a first round stoppage to John The Beast Mugabi & thoroughly outboxed by Terry Norris & Gianfranco Rosi.

Unless someone here has seen Fights of Jacquot beating a top tier fighter, I'd say after beating Curry he won ..one big fight and was done.

    Darryl Pinckney
    Anyone ever seen him fight?

After Junior Jones 32-1 bounced back from losing his WBA bantamweight title , in between beating HOFer Orlando Canizalez, 2 wins over Marco Antonio Barrera and Tracy Harris Patterson...he lost to some dude who was 18-18-2
This dreary fight record dude outboxed JJ.. who went on to beat a legendary Mexican fighter (MAB).
No shame in JJ losing 4 more, one to Kennedy McKinney and Erik Morales.

Darryl Pinckney lost 22 of his last 25...retired 24-42-3. Seems he beat Junior Jones and that's it.
