Having said that, it's still the best place to live that I have been to. And I have lived in a lot of countries.

The CCTV thing is better than what lots of people have to out up with:

- I can vote openly
- I can drink alcohol and (almost) have freedom of speech
- The government will not take my house or farm just cos they feel like it
- I generally don't get discriminated against, and have recourse to complain if I do
- my wife can vote, drive a car and wear what she likes
- my head of state is not a compete buffoon/maniac/thief
