I don't think that I could venture a proper guess but as far as I can see all the participants fought the best people around at the time and most of them fought their opponent in his prime. If I may say so the guys that fought the champs in your list were the cream of the crop. Guess I blew my bolt but I will keep trying to guess the answer.

Btw I came up with this from time spent on a personal bucket list with boxing. I only had the time because wolves are taking dogs again in my area and when I take my dogs out there are no leashes involved. I have a big yard with a 6 foot fence but that's not stopping a wolf.
