Why do you want to loose weight?

12 stone is very light for some one of your height, 11 and a half stone is underweight... Its not going to make you fit...

At the expenss of fitness and power, don't try to force the weight off your body fight were you are natural.

Unless you are technically brilliant going into your first bout you won't have any advantage at that height and weight... you'll fight some short kid who's as strong as an oxe compared you you and becaue he hasn't burned off all of his energy stores hel'll just come tearning into you.

I've seen hundrens of tall thin lads get beaten by short people in their first fights because they don't have the skills to box them properly because they are too inexperienced.

You won't have the same amount of power because your arms are longer so you'll loose power in your shots from throwing them more than some one with shorter arms compared to their weight.

I'm not saying you need to bulk up like a body builder, but 11.5 stone at your height would be too skinny to be fit or healthy.

What you gotta remember about Pros is that they walk around much heavier than the weight the fight at. They'll go into training and shed a couple of pounds and then dry up before the weigh in, from starting training to getting weighed the probably loose over s stone, but they put it straight back on afterwards.

Joe Calzaghe fights at 12 stone but walks around at over 13 stone. Your body will be OK doing it for say a month and one fight, but in the amatuers you fight a couple of times a month so you can't dry up, cos if you do, you have to stay at that weight all season.

Train hard during the summer and aim to imrpove your skills and fitness. Take a break before the season for a week or two and just take it easy because you will be training as hard as you can the whole season and you don't want to burn your self out.
