I've not posted in this thread purposely up until now

Bowies death has absolutely crippled me, if David Bowie can die then anyone can, when I found out he'd gone I just sat one the edge of my bed at 6:30am questioning everything, Bowie, how the fuck can he be dead

I text my dad and told him, he didn't believe me, I text my mate and he was just as shocked as me, then I started getting texts from loads of people who knew how much I loved him, I was fucking gutted, for the last week or so I've been in mourning, its horrible, I thought when Lou Reed went I was crippled but old Lou has nothing on Bowie.

Yeah he did some shit but up until diamond dogs you can't say a bad word about him, and I have always put labrynth in my top three films of all tim.

The goblin king has passed, I just hope that now sarah, Ludo and Hoggle can breathe easy

Funny that this thread should be resurrected now, I've been listening to Bowie pretty much exclusively over the last few weeks, I can't stop listening to Station to Station and Heroes.

Strange to thing that soon it'll be 3 years since he died.

Lots of great albums, but Station to Station is the one I return to most. How you come up with something like that is beyond me. The guitars howl and scream, the vocals otherworldly, the subject matter dense and dark. I consider it a twin album of Blackstar which I think comes from a similar place. They are both staring into the abyss albums with long title tracks, fewer and longer tracks, and a real longing to connect in some way.

It's funny how time changes you, when I was a kid it was Ziggy Stardust, Man Who Sold the World and Hunky Dory, these days it's Station to Station, Heroes, Diamond Dogs and Blackstar.

One thing for Bowie is that he spanned all genres.

Special shout out needs to go to Mick Ronson as well what a guitarist he was.

Ronson was great. Have you seen the recent Ronson documentary? Well worth a watch. Love a lot of his work with Ian Hunter too.
