Definitely a tough sport, and that's exactly the reason why I always try to give boxers credit for getting in that ring. That being said, for many of the great ones, I don't view it as tragic as most. Think about it: these guys are warriors born, it's in their veins to fight.

I hate seeing fighters suffer the ill affects, but how miserable and empty would their lives have been if they hadn't fought? How many would've faced similar endings because they had this primal need to fight, but never would've received the compensation or adoration they did through boxing because they had to fight in the streets as an outlet? So, while I hate seeing a man injured like that, I know deep down that it really couldn't have been any other way for him...
