A different big name takes the blame for fights not happening all the time. It used to be "Oscars fault, everyone is waiting on the golden goose". Truth is nothing has changed.
Keith Thurman has still faught nobody.
Kell Brook has still faught nobody.
Danny Garcia is still fighting for paydays rather than glory.
Khan still chased the biggest payday.
Everyone just goes down the list. Floyd, Manny, Canelo. If you can't get one you go to the next. Can't get Canelo, you go for Cotto. Can't get Cotto you want the easiest fight that will get you paid until you can fight one of those guys. Just faded enough, just green enough, just used up enough.
Who's fighting Rigo? Who's fighting GGG? Who's fighting.....it doesn't matter the name. It is all still risk/reward. And with millions on the line it's logical. It sucks, but it's logical.
If you could be thought of as a great fighter or take care of your family for generations and you cared more about being considered a great fighter, frankly, you're a POS.
