Hughie isn't ranked anywhere is he? perhaps he was looking for something with a bigger reward?
He wouldnt get that against Haye thats for sure. Hes broke.

No one wants to back him because although his last fight pulled a crowd he hasnt proved he can beat anyone even half decent and judging by his turning down Fedesov and picking an untested novice whos only been fighting german journeymen neither does he have confidence in his ability.

Like I said, he will take that ranking and sit on it biding his time against journeymen the same as De Mori did and wait for a payday as a name opponent.
just to explain my post, I meant that perhaps Fedesov didn't fight Hughie because Hughie isn't ranked and Fedesov wouldn't move on up

however Haye is ranked and a name so, as well as more chance of a step up the ladder, he would get the Haye exposure too

and he would more than likely earn more fighting Haye than Hughie also

Other than Haye is scared of Fedesov like you suggest, perhaps there was a different reason to why Haye chose not to have Fedesov as a backup in case his 21st may fight falls through?
