I’m in the same kind of mindset on this question as @ X Oh some fights really got to me like Hop/Tito, Holmes/Ali and Tarver/Jones 2 but what’s happened to the sport under the false guise of evolution bugs me more. My pet peeves are more about operations then a particular fight.

Inpo

1 Allowing the world championship to fragment and at precisely when the NBA became the WBA and then “regulators” allowed the WBC to form by pulling off a rib. Then the IBF came along and WBO brought up the rear. What followed is what we see today. It was ok when there were 2 trinkets for a time and then King and WBC got together and burned portions of the seventies and eighties.

Which leads into my next bitch.

2 The power yielded by promoters/managers/handlers/pimps/parasites and broadcasters. Just how muddy do the waters have to get? Why is HBO telling everyone who they are fighting?

3.The present day acceptance of mediocrity. Posers waving belts and pretending right in the face of everyone and those mentioned above that enable its continuance.

4. The death of real trainers and the invention of celebrity ones. All part of the watering down process.

5 That it all continues. I’m convinced that there will have to be some global financial disaster of the likes we have never seen before for boxing to find itself. Purely economic concerns have a tendency to ruin just about anything. Weed might be an exception

Cynical and angry eh….I know but I still love this sport and hope it turns somehow and gets a little oxygen. I have to admit that after witnessing so many great eras where people sought and actually did fight each other, this coddled over protected posing era is a tough one to continue following.
