What is the difference being confident about your boxing skills as opposed to be considered arrogant?

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Its the same as 'envy' versus 'jealousy'.
If I don't have something, and I'm envious of someone else, then I wish I could have that thing too.
If I'm jealous, then I simply wish that he didnt have it either.
So .... for me anyway, confidence is when you belive in yourself and in the tools you have in the ring. Nothing to do with the other guy.
Arrogance is when it's about him. You think you're better than him..
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
Arrogance is when you think you are but have yet to show or be. You talk the loudest and about all and hope no one looks down and notices the puddle. Not always, but mostly. Some guys with an ounce of talent these days are groomed to be assholes first. Confidence is knowing who you are, knowing you belong in the moment and what you're capable of..proven.
Pretty deep question. No hard and fast rules but I'm thinking much like Mr. @Spicoli
The line can be fine. Arrogance can be confused with confidence because imo confidence can cause or rather introduce arrogance be it sport or anything else. Arrogance however can also be a cover for ignorance. We can all confuse arrogance for confidence or the reverse. People can over compensate or simply be the smartest guy in the room. Imagine sitting in a room with Einstein and thinking you have got the upper hand once the conversation shifts from math or physics to the social ailments of society only to find out he stands out in that aspect of life also? I bet many of his peers/contemporaries considered him an arrogant prick.
For boxing its a real mishmash. Floyd had incredible confidence and you could just read it all over him and yet was never really over the top with arrogance. The "Money May" thing was part of the show like Ali's shtick. Ward to me comes across as an arrogant spoiled olympic brat that deep down does not have the confidence and over compensates. Like Park Si-Hun telling you he beat Roy Jones before he asks to take your order.
@Master the first half of that signature you usewould have to play huge in this conversation and lend itself to a false sense of security or confidence that may entail arrogance. The spoon feeding of boxers today with a steady diet of no hopers is part of it.Do not let success go to your head
You can ooze confidence without being a flash cunt.
3-Time SADDO PREDICTION COMP CHAMPION.
Both Eubanks are arrogant. Still are, probably always will be and it does a poor job of masking their inferiority complex. The whole jodhpurs and monocle rubbish whilst lecturing everybody. It's quite clear he still has no idea what being either English or a Gentleman means and unfortunately his son has swallowed the same pill.
I think you can be display a level of arrogance, without being a prick. You use it when you walk out on stage, or put forward a proposal or go for an interview. You have to surpass confidence and convince everyone that this is your space and you are more than capable of filling the shoes or taking on that role. It's a fine line though and not being able to listen when someone tells you you are on the wrong side is a bad habit to trap yourself with.
Your judging the nipper on the old mans eccentricities.
Does jodhpurs and monocles, Harley's and Peterbuilt trucks really make someone arrogant?
I visited Jodhpur, India. What is "a" Jodhpur?
Confidence is knowing you can win over your opponent and work hard to make it so training and keeping yourself fit for action. Arrogance is according to the USMC is writing a check with your mouth that your ass can't cash. Lots of guys have heard that and should pay attention.
