Maybe it's because Martin didn't want to get back up after the second knockdown, and we knew he didn't want to get back up. Let's put that next to Tyson/Spinks, which was a full round shorter, but at least we knew Spinks could NOT have gotten back up to fight. So we gatta give Spinks a pass.

The only other stinky fights I can think of in the last 30 years was Seldon/Tyson and Wlad/Povetkin. I don't think anything can be worse than those three right there, with Johsua/Martin being the worst title fight!

Name me a HW title fight that sucked as much as Martin/Joshua did. Name one!!
Here is a few off the top of my head.Half of Tysons career and the Briggs/Liakhovich fight was like Chinese water torture. Just like most of Wlads career. Chew on that
Wlad vs. Povetkin was probably just a bad because it was just as long. But come one man, Martin/Joshua was just absolute shit. It was a total bust and a let down. No effort in this fight at all. There was nothing. I mean, this fight was pure shit!!!
There are countless less than stellar title fights in this sanka division that dwarf Joshua/Martin in the field of terrible. With Martin nobody knew who he was but people, myself included thought he had a shot based on Joshua's newbie appearance in the ring and that he could have a David Price like chin.
Martin seemed confident with a nothing to lose attitude and is a southpaw to boot with heavy hands. Although it looked like he wore his little brother’s shorts he simply got blasted out. Tyson made a living off doing the same thing

I named Tyson off the bat so here is a couple of his. Both total about 8 minutes with some of the introduction.

Yeah there was nothing wrong with the actual fight Joshua v Martin, there have been plenty of one sided 1 or 2 round KOs in heavyweight title fights

its what we watch the HWs for

Well the thing that keeps a even boring hw fight exiting is that a knock can happen out no were more then any division. Simple because it does not matter how talented that you are if a 230 plus dude hits you on the chin clean shit will happen a chin can only take so much cant make it stronger.

I think everyone understands what you are saying, but in this case the opponent, a 'world champ' was so pathetically poor it sucked. Congrats to Hearn for doing his research and taking the gamble, that's pro boxing, but I think this is a sign of things to come, our alphabet heavyweights will take over from the Russians.

There really was no effort in this for Joshua. His Whyte fight was better. In fact, the Whyte fight is his best fight to date. Dillian Whyte needs to be appraised to fight for another loose title.

Exactly right! It wasn't so much the fight , or that it didn't last long, that's what we expect with HW's. It was one person that was shit.
2 of my most memorable HW World title fights both lasted less than 2 rounds. Frazier v Foreman and Tyson v Berbick.
The difference was, on those 2 occasions, the loser did all he could to continue.
