Felix Verdejo to face Jose Luis Rodriguez on Saturday - Ring TV

Regardless... I'm hoping for a great showing by Verdejo as he primes for his upcoming battle with Jose Felix Jr. at MSG in June. They're talking possible title bout by 2017. Of course... no use getting ahead of ourselves here. First things first. Gotta go through these bouts one at a time... and continue the learning curve.
I've heard and read a lot about this Verdejo kid, next Trinidad, next Cotto and all that. He's only 22, so still time on his said and from what I've seen on youtube, he does looks the part

That's exactly right, Denilson. He's being highly touted. Personally I'm a bit more cautious, as there's a lot of work ahead and learning to do. I remember Juanma Lopez before he became enamored of his own power and forgot all about his defense. That did him in. Fighting in Puerto Rico didn't do Juanma too much good either. He let his emotions and wanting a knockout badly get the better of him, and he paid the price more than once. He had great promise, but fizzled out quite badly. I don't think Verdejo will fall into that trap, but he's got to be careful. He tends to go for the homerun shot a lot, I noticed, and he's perfectly capable of boxing, because he's got very good boxing skills. Time will tell.
