It's them who decided to have nothing of him, and I'm certain Canelo will swerve him again.
He can't do much about that. He wants to mop up all the belts, at this rate they'll be given to him, then we'll see what he's got .
You can't say he is one of the greats because he hasn't had the competition to prove that. What we do know is
He's the best MW out there by miles
He has rocks in his gloves
He gets hit too often from a purists point of view, but it only serves to show that he has a granite chin.
To be honest being the best mw right now is kinda pointless the division is a baron waste land with least talent it has been in past 20 years. GGG good but if he going to find some comp to prove his greatness he might want to give 168 or 175 a try not sure how much he cuts though.
He wants to unify the division, if that's what he wants to do , that's up to him.
Agreed, to get a test , he needs to go up to 168 (I think 175 is ridiculous). The problem is 168 isn't a division full of superstars or money either.
I think he beats every SMW Out there at the moment.

Golovkin clearly stood and let Wade hit him 4 - 5 times in round two in the hope of making more of a "Big Drama Show" but just walk through them then beat him to the floor, one Knockdown was the result of Wade being hit on the top of his arm and the force of it put him on the floor.
He needs to fuck this division off and move up to Super Middle where there are at least a few decent fights for him but i think he'll go for Hopkins record of 20 straight Middleweight defences.
If he's serious about giving the fans what they want then he needs to move division and stop waiting on a scared Mexican who's happy to fight guys 2/3 weight divisions below him.
Show's how Shit the Middleweights are when the Mandatory challenger is allowed to land 4-5 free undefended punches by the Champ.
That simply shouldn't happen at elite levels,

As of this morning I notice they've now ranked Tureano Johnson as his next mandatory. I can't blame a guy for taking care of business and blowing non worthy challengers out but this is getting a bit boring. If I was advising Golovkin I'd take out freeway signs and sky writing planes calling Canelo out leading into the Khan match. The guy struggles more in his interviews than he does in his last few fights, and I want him to do great things.

There just isn't that much out there for him to fight. There's Jacobs but he's a Haymon guy with a belt so not very likely. There's Saunders and that might make money in Britain but won't get the same license fee from HBO unless they hold it in the small hours. Other than that there's a bunch of scrubs, not even going to mention Alvarez because he's not going to fight Golovkin until Golovkin qualifies for social security.

If he can fill arenas and get a decent payday from HBO and break the defences record he probably will do.

HBOs biggest draw so far this year with 1.25 million buys so he's definitely a huge star now. Add to that his new Air Jordan Nike deal and his other sponsors and there deals = $$$$ for Golovkin.

The fight was on "free" HBO, those were the viewers not PPV buys.

He'd be getting $50 million not $2 million if he could sell a million PPV's.

Golovkin got two million, Wdae got 500k. And Golovkin would love to do PPVs but to establish himself as a bona fide PPV draw he's going to have to beat one. Floyd is never going to fight him and Alvarez is going to delay it as long as possible, maybe till Golovkin gets his bus pass. Other than those two guys there's nobody with the PPV mojo that Golovkin can fight to move him into the PPV bracket.

Having said that there is another way to get him there. If there were a load of decent middleweight challengers that Golovkin could fight they'd make them PPV. They made the Lemieux fight PPV and it did 150000 buys. But there aren't anymore Lemieux-level opponents out there so Golovkin just has to plod along picking up a couple of million a fight waiting for the ginger Mexican to give in and fight him.

In fact even after that fight who the hell do they put Golovkin in with to make the next PPV? There's just nobody marketable at 160 apart from Golovkin and Alvarez.

He would pretty much have to move up to 175 if he going to get a block buster fight. There is no one in the 160 or 168 division right now it kinda dead so GGG is fucked enless few of the stars from 147 or 154 move up because there is nothing until you hit the lhw it is pretty sad indeed.
