In a round about way it's a little make up payday for Breazele after Wlad losing and Fury stripped saw his fight with Martin cancelled on short notice. Dominic was dropped like a bad habit with shot at top rank gone. Undoubtedly the ibf will magically propel him from #13 to one of its goofy number one and two "not ranked" slots before the bell sounds for this.

Dominic Breazeale is okay as an opponent for Anthony Joshua at this time.

Let's not forget, Joshua just fought on April 9. Nice to see champions remaining active!

    Agreed.

This is a pretty good opponent considering. Better than Malik Scott. Better than the guys Haye is fighting.

Hearn works with all the top American promoters. There's no TV clash for him in the states

I just watched Brezeale Mansour and although it doesn't look like Joshua has much to worry about Mansour is a decent fighter and a good win

I dunno if I saw it right though but didn't Mansour quit and then raise his arms when the result was being read out?

Groves is with a rival promoter but still appears consistently on Eddie's shows does not mean he is in with Matchroom.

No, far from it. Groves can't stand Hearn , Hearn knows it , but they both know that Groves brings a lot of interest and Money. It's a strictly business relationship and they are both mature enough to put up with each other for their mutual benefit.
Mind you, you wonder why the Sauerlands signed to promote Groves when they never ever have shows with him on?

I guess they only do shows in Germany and Groves is bigger here obviously but Groves would have bashed up Abrahams.

When John Bray was training Breazale, they trained at a gym in my hometown and my friend went and watched him every day. My friend said he had never seen a pro fighter so lazy in the gym.
Breazale is now trained, or was for his last fight, by Manuel Robles, son of the legendary blind trainer, Chato Robles. He is a top trainer and a class guy (he trains Oscar Valdez and has done the gym work for many fighters that were seen in the ring with 'name' trainers) but I don't think he has much to work with here.

Brezeale really struggled with Kassi who is absolute muck. This fight is not going past 1 or 2 rounds. Not too fussed missing this fight to be honest.

Yep and in fairness all the real competition is tied up, Wilder Povetkin, Fury Wlad, Takam Parker and even Pulev Chisora. Outside the above and Luis Ortiz Breazeale is more or less as good as anyone else.

That is what I'm not sure of. If one does the lineal thing it appears Mr. Brezeale would be a Joshua optional and not a mandatory which would then have to be the highest ranked available. But if it starts at Fury for refusing to fight Glazkov who then fought Martin for the vacant title then Joshua's next fight would have to be an optional because there was not even a mandatory to inherit. The Ibf had to know that Fury was contractually obligated to rematch Wlad when viewing the final agreement. If they didn’t then they should have stripped Wlad for fighting Fury instead of Glazkov and fired their front office. I think it’s a ballsy move because Joshua could have fought someone from the nose bleeds for an optional while the Ibf has a string of eliminators.
