If Virgils smart, he'll have khan try to use his distance, lands, 2/5 on the flurry and try to clinch which is what he does with ward. So look for Khan to try to fit into a Ward-esque rinse and repeat (perimeter stalk, attack, bury in, get walked out) kind of performance. Try stay off the ropes and frustrate Canelo and make it easier on himself in the later rounds where he can take rounds off and stay fresher. Its a win for khan publicity wise even if he survives.

Canelo should look to press Khan and force him to carry that extra weight and use his legs for the first 4 or 5 rounds, so he wears himself out. Bang the body with body and borderline belt shots and take his legs away... After that khans a touch slower, his legs are heavy and he's a sitting duck and will be forced to trade with Canelo.

I agree that this could be the typical khan oversight fight. Start well, look like he has a plan and a momentarily lapse of concentration eff's it all up. Either Canelo can't be hurt by Khan and throws with him looking knock on the same door Garcia knocked on with the left hook over the top. Or Khan strays from the game plan and tries to punch out with Canelo and gets clobbered. Or slows down just enough for Canelo to catch him in the later rounds. I get the feeling Khan tries to use the Ward technique listed above, has some moderate success and the first time canelo wobbles him, there will be a quick stoppage
They want your @$$ beat because upsets make news. News brings about excitement, excitement brings about ratings. The objective is to bring you up to the tower and tear your @$$ down. And if you don't believe that, you're crazy.

To me I think this fight plays out like GGG vs David Lemieux. Come the night of the fight Canelo will be heavier, stronger, and will just batter Khan

Virgil is smart. He told Khan's Dad to not take the fight. He's also paid well

    Good post.

I think you've hit just about every scenario for Khan outside of a first round KO lol
